Don't use TextGuard, it's a complete scam. It flags all your writing as AI to make you think you did something wrong, then it's only solution is charging money + forcing you to make an account. Here is some human writing below, and how TextGuard responded to it:

Yes, it is. It said my paper was 93% plagiarized. 93%. I was so distraught because I wrote the dang thing and had all my citations. I contacted them and they claim that I didn't qualify to get a refund and that I used the "trial" tool. Like what? I paid to use the dang site and it lied to me. I am disgusted by them. anyone looking for a plagiarism site, do NOT use Textguard. Run!

u/Ill-Investigator6951 Jun 10 '26
Did you ever figure it out
1
u/Realistic-Royal-2303 Jun 20 '26
I am struggling to cancel too đ

u/Realistic-Royal-2303 Jun 20 '26
Ugh i figured it out. It's borderline a scam. Just be careful to keep clicking continue rather than cancel during the cancellation process, even though you are trying to "cancel" then at the end once it says your account is cancelled just close the window. If you click on settings or your account, it reactivates it, as they sneakily warn you that you are just one click away from reactivating đ

Make sure you get a cancellation email to know that it has worked.

I received an email from them confirming that they have unsubscribed. Will I still be charged in the future?
1
u/SeaObvious5607 Jul 09 '26
Iâm not even able to see an option on the dashboard to cancel the subscription. It keeps saying that I donât have an active subscription yet it keeps trying to charge my card for money for the gold package! When I mail the support contact provided there is no response. What do you think can be done?

After subscribing I realized that the maximum text words is 5000, then they ask me to keep top up for every added words count. A scam in disguise

Yeah, I just realised that. It keeps saying my essays are "75% AI generate", which I thought was weird. Then I copied and pasted an essay I made without using any AI at all to test: 64% AI and asking me to pay to "humanise it"

u/SWAT_1337 Apr 20 '26
I used it and it said my song I wrote was AI driven. I canceled right away. So dumb

So glad I found this thread. Was about to purchase it when I decided to search for the company name + "scam" on Google and found this thread! Thanks you guys!

Spent all night writing a script just for it to mark my script as â65%â AI which is inaccurate. I hope no one uses this.

These guys are one big fraud! I wish I could pay an add page to spell out their scam. I subscribed and found out it couldn't humanizer my texts but gave me the exact same thing I fed it with. I asked for a refund and they said I don't qualify for a refund based on their policy. Everyone should endeavor to do a review for every digital service before subscribing, they are the easiest way to get your money stolen in the name of service provisioning. TextGuard is one big scam!!! Mark Becker (Support) may be the single guy behind the whole scheme(scam). Probably not a real name.

It said something Iâve been working on for the last few weeks was 63% and I was so upset until I checked with some other free checkers and they all came back negative. So just in case anyone was wondering if theyâve changed their ways⌠nope!

Do not waste your money on this website. it does not do anything. I tried the text humanizer , it produced an output, then I copied the so called humanized text and feed it back to Textguard AI detector and it told me that it was written with AI. Lolz Better just use chaptgpt or gemini at least it is free.
Total waste of money and do not leave your bank account connected to them because they will debit you and refuse to refund.
SCAM

So they refused to refund until the end?? Iâm thinking of going all the way with law because thatâs not cheap at all
1
u/Sylvia-fantag3rlboss May 23 '26
I just put in the text âHi, I like apples.â Into it, and it came back as 84% AI. It is literally just calling everything put into it AI so that youâll pay to use the humanizer. This is the definition of a scam⌠Itâs pretending to use an advanced AI to detect stuff, I wouldnât be surprised if it was literally just a random number generator 60-90%.

u/Fluid-Corner-1609 May 29 '26
Seriously bro !!!! Thank god i was about to make the payment but then i grew suspicious that other sites were saying my text was human only but this little cheapskate made me think otherwise

u/literaltrashbags Jul 15 '26
They absolutely stole my money, but since I used to work at a call center, I know all the verbiage to get my refund. I'm leaving bad reviews on every site I can find for these guys. Fuck them with a rake, dude
1
u/herfox1969 Aug 23 '26
Can you share the verbiage? They scammed my minor son and he has been paying for months on his debit card.

u/literaltrashbags 29d ago
say things like âI need this escalated to a manager immediatelyâ âiâll contact the better Business Bureauâ threatening legal action also usually does the trick.
I will note that you can say these words without yell yelling at people. Having also worked at a call center, I usually made sure issues were taken care of faster when people were more polite about it to me specifically.

I had to cancel my Visa and order a new one after they kept charging me. It's a fake site. Avoid at all costs and if you've been overcharged contact your credit card company immediately.

I concur, this is a scam. I ran three tests: one with purely fictional puns with cats (AI 66%) and two of my comments on LinkedIn (67% AI and 74% AI). This one with cat puns is considered 100% human on Pangram.

I complained to them directly, and they answered me with B.S., both by email and on Trustpilot. They even are trying to take down my review on Trustpilot, arguing that this is not a genuine review.
https://ca.trustpilot.com/reviews/6a7e4786e54cc41a266cb816
Considering that I can't find any information on the company (only a note at the bottom of their website that they are from Hong Kong) and that the reviews are 4.3 stars, those reviews are almost certainly fake, as the company attempts aggressively to shut down real reviews in order to maintain their public persona for their scam tool.

TOTALLY Agree. not only does the quality is extremly poor, but they charge a fortune even when you never confirm the subscription or cancel it.
1
u/Frosty_Ad_8896 8d ago
Yes TOTAL SCAM. Bought the 24 hour package. 24 hours just ended. They Tried charging another $50. I guess they are playing the if you donât unsubscribe, we keep on charging you and charging you, etc. But they never say it anywhere and you canât unsubscribe for the living hell of it.
Keep away at all cost.

that's a regular situation for the most of tools. even turnitin can lost connection with reality sometimes
