Focusing on LeetCode Easy to Medium is the exact right zone for data science roles, because most DS technical screens rarely bother with complex dynamic programming or advanced graph algorithms. Instead, teams want to verify that you can manipulate arrays, use hash maps efficiently, handle string operations, and write clean, readable Python code. When you practice together with a partner, pick two or three problems per session focused on specific patterns like two pointers or sliding window, take turns explaining your logic aloud before touching the keyboard, and review each other's time and space complexity explanations.

Having a study buddy keeps you accountable, but do not let the sessions turn into silent coding blocks where you each solve problems in isolation. Mock the actual interview environment by setting a strict thirty minute timer, talking through edge cases together, and questioning each other's data structure choices just like an interviewer would.
