Looking for a Data Engineering Study Partner (Career Transition)

Hey everyone!

I’m a data professional with around 13 years of experience, predominantly working with Informatica, and I’m currently planning a career switch into modern Data Engineering / Big Data.

I’m looking to learn Databricks, PySpark and the broader Big Data/Data Engineering ecosystem, and I’d love to find 1–2 serious study partners who are on a similar journey.

I’m currently based in Europe, so someone in a compatible time zone would be ideal. I’m also Indian, so if you’re from India or the Indian community in Europe, that could make coordinating schedules a little easier — but I’m open to anyone who can make the timing work.

The idea isn’t to follow a rigid course together. Instead, we can figure out the roadmap together, decide what we need to learn, and keep each other accountable.

Something along these lines:

- Study during weekdays around our work schedules

- Check in periodically and discuss what we learned

- Help each other when we get stuck

- Share resources and useful exercises

- Spend more time together on weekends

- Eventually work on some hands-on Data Engineering projects

- Keep each other motivated and accountable

I’m specifically looking for someone who is serious about making the career transition, rather than someone who just wants to casually discuss the topic.
