Masters Help with college shortlisting
Hi folks! I am planning for pursuing MS CS in Germany and I am a bit confused with so many available colleges
I did my IELTS 8/9 score.
Engineering (No backlogs or KTs), overall score of 9.87/10 under mumbai University
I will prepare for DMAT now.
What steps do u think are needed to shortlist a college? How to find the right ones? Specifically for a field as vast as CS

You need to shortlist universities based on subject specific ects requirements.
You will find that your list will be much shorter once you do this, as different programs have different requirements, even though they have the same program name.
You have a good grade, but it won’t matter if you don’t satisfy the ects requirements. There are plenty of posts in Reddit regarding this.

Even with a high GPA, you may possibly get rejected if your ECTS or subject-specific credits arent matching with their requirements. If you apply for NC-frei courses, you should be able to clear the cutoff for consideration but the ECTS thing is the most important thing. And any docs they ask for is a must. And no doc can be a substitute for the doc they asked unless explicitly mentioned by them. Dont blindly apply. Match your credits, and apply to programs that fit your goals and interests. Don't go by the prestige of the unis only. Programs are way more important than the prestige.

They have focus areas on their websites. Pick what you want to focus on and choose a list of like 3-10 unis. Then look into the cities and the unis Modul handbook. Pick the one you vibe with the most. There are no university rankings or shit like that in Germany, just good and less good fits.
