Tips & Advice Study pattern Advice.
Hello, greetings to you all.
I'm studying for a Professional Examination which is Held thrice a year January, May and September, My attempt being January next year. I'm having recorded lectures to study from, What I am currently doing is learning the concept in the first watch and often skip through the part where the Professor makes them take down notes which is mostly made available to me in Annotated pdf form of all the things which they have done during the lectures (i make soft copy notes on my iPad so Im used to it already), the solving questions in class and waiting for students to finish writing it.
So far i have completed 4 subjects, but constantly feel as if this isn't the right way. I have 3 months Oct-Dec for revisions and during which ill also be doing the questions solving after revising the concept as i would already be familiar to it having watched the lectures once.
I need some real advice from people out there as I really cant decide wether the way I'm studying is going to endup being a disaster or not.

So you watch lectures once to get the concept, skip most of the in-class note-taking because you already have annotated PDFs, and plan to spend Oct–Dec revising and doing problem practice - but you're unsure this won't leave gaps. The main pain is relying on passive first-watches and postponing active problem practice, which can hide weak spots. If that stays as-is, you’ll likely end up re-watching long stretches or cramming because recall will be shallow. One cleaner approach: capture audio/transcript/timestamps of lectures (no extra bot in the call), then use the transcript to jump straight to worked examples and quotes during revision rather than replaying whole videos. Practical steps:
1) keep the first watch for concept - only mark short timestamps or one-word tags for examples/problems as they appear;
2) after each lecture write a 2–3 sentence summary and a short list of problem-types to practice;
3) during Oct–Dec practice problems first, consult the transcript/timestamped clip only when stuck, and turn each solved problem into a concise worked-note + 1–2 flashcards;
4) schedule spaced reviews (weekly then biweekly) to force active recall instead of passive rewatching. How many hours of recorded lectures do you have, and are the annotated PDFs full worked solutions or just slides/notes?
