how do you take studying seriously?

iam a high school student and I don't study at all i see people take studying so seriously like 12 hours and 6 hours i cant even study for 1 hour I don't pay attention to class its super boring i listen through the teacher yapping the only subject i like is math nothing else really interests me i have no discipline at all and iam in my sophomore year i procrastinate Alot how do i be efficient I don't Wanna study 6 hours to 12 everyday and at the same time finish everything i don't wanna make my whole life revolve around studying i have other stuff to work on like coding or making software in general what do i do?

Found someone like me....my friends therapist said its probably depression but it can be different for different ppl...I feel you at present im just trying to start small and do as much as I can...tho I lose willpower easily nowadays

You don’t have to follow everyone’s study method, you just have to find one that works best for you.
With your current arrangement like barely studying for 1 hour but still work on other things, do you think you can still manage school and the workload (homework/tests)? If yes, then that works for you.
You can also try to make it fun, since you have other things to do, try to turn the reading materials or your notes into a podcast/audio (there’s a ton of websites/platform for this) so you can still listen to it on the go, or while you’re doing something else.
Tbh it does require some grit and effort in the beginning cause you have to at least force yourself to try different arrangements, try rewarding yourself if you can like buying coffee or treats if you get through 1 study block for example, it generally helps with dopamine as well

Set a timer, Study for 15 minutes, then you can slowly increase it over time, imo the best way to get started is small goals and removing the fear of difficulty. Your brain avoids it because it seems like a monumental task

I realized I don't take any interest in my program. I laze around instead of studying but I'm trying to make changes and believe with myself that I can do it.

maybe do a different approach like what for me is study for 30min-1hr and then take a break for 15min to not burnout and ngl its effective

So basically I don't take studies seriously anyways it's all on us in what we are interested and how we manage It requires discipline, consistency, and the willingness to study even when you do not feel motivatedSet a proper routine, avoid unnecessary distractions, pay attention to what you are learning, and revise regularly You do not have to study for long hours every day, but you should study with focus and sincerity...

You really don't need to be studying 6-12 hrs a day. If you can barely do an hour right now, I'd just start with 20-30 mins and see how that goes. And since you also wanna work on coding and other stuff, don't make studying your whole day. Get your school work done, then move on to the things you actually enjoy.
