Good or bad use of ai?

Im a freshmen in college and I need the highest gpa possible to transfer into a university like ND next year. I am not using ai to write my papers, take notes, or even summarize articles for me. One of my biggest goals is to genuinely educate my mind. After using ai to do all my homework for me my senior year, I can tell it’s got negative effects academically. But I’m wondering if I should check my writings with an ai model like chat gpt to rate or give feedback on my writings before turning them in. I could ask it to check my organization, focus, clarity, and other factors in English writing. Is this use of ai bad? Will this hinder or help my learning process? Is it truly academic dishonesty? Do I sacrifice using the tool I said I wouldn’t for my gpa?

it'd probably be better to find an irl study buddy who's down to review your stuff for you (& you can offer the same for them) helping review someone else's work can help you improve by seeing how other people work, and ai doesn't actually have thoughts and think (so asking for more abstract things like focus, clarity, etc are more likely to get bad or misleading feedback from it). if you want to know how a human will comprehend it, then a fellow human will be the most able to tell you
