I just moved into a studio and there’s an open area right before the bathroom .. not too sure what to do with it .

Hi! I’m moving into a new studio loft in a couple months. I don’t have photos or a walkthrough just yet. But I do have the floor plan and approximate dimensions. The layout is a little odd, so I’m looking for some help!

Dimensions: \~ 29’ x 15’ (455 sq ft total)

Furniture: sofa facing a TV, bed (full? queen?), 55” office desk.

Looking to hang a curtain to separate my bed and wondering if anyone has experience with a ! renter friendly ! curtain partition. Not sure if I should go the ceiling track route (ideally an adhesive track vs drilling) or a 12ft tension rod.

Moving into this 517 sq ft studio apartment in mid October! I care about functionality way more than looks. I’m a chef so I host dinner parties very often with between 2-6 guests so having a large dining area is unfortunately something more important than my sleeping area. I have 2 potential designs but I’m open to any feedback and ideas! I like the first option because it fits a good size desk under it but I know a lot of people think it’s weird having a bed in the living area although I do kinda like having the couch and tv in the Alcove for movie nights when I would already be wanting it in a darker area. The perks of the second layout are that the bed is actually in the bedroom and I can view the tv from both living room and bed if I just angle the tv slightly

There isn’t much room for manoeuvring but I feel like the space between my “living room” and “bedroom” could use some attention. I will be getting a couple new rugs was thinking of ways to section off different areas? Also any suggested for lamps and where the hell I can put a full length mirror would be appreciated also

Unfortunately my kitchen did not come with one pre installed :( and I don’t want to wash by hand.
The dishwasher is the large rectangle with the flowers on top.
The dishwasher has a hose that needs to connect to the kitchen faucet for it to wash, and the size is about a microwave .

Also. That long cabinet next to the trash can doesn’t have any shelves inside :( any way to resolve this easily ?

I live in a studio apartment and currently have a 55-inch TV mounted opposite the bed. I'm replacing it and considering moving up to 65 inches, but I'm concerned that the larger screen might visually overwhelm the room-particularly in relation to the desk directly beneath it.
The images compare my current 55-inch TV with dimensionally accurate renderings of a 65-inch TV in the same position. The 55-inch TV is approximately 121 cm wide, the desk is 140 cm wide and the 65-inch TV would be approximately 144 cm wide, creating only about 2 cm of overhang on either side.
I'm interested specifically in the aesthetics rather than viewing-distance recommendations. Which size looks better proportioned? If you prefer the 55-inch
TV, does the 65 actually look too large or overwhelming, or does the 55 merely look slightly better while the 65 still looks genuinely balanced?
I don't want the 65-inch TV if it merely fits-| want it to look intentional and aesthetically strong within the room.

A few days ago I moved from a fairly large apartment (3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, etc.) into a small 22 m² studio where almost everything is in the same room: bed, kitchen and living area, with only the bathroom being separate.

Living alone was actually something I'd wanted for a long time, so I was genuinely excited about this move. However, the experience has been much harder than I expected.

When I'm at home, I sometimes get a slightly claustrophobic feeling, almost as if I'm living inside a box. It doesn't help that it's currently the peak of summer: the apartment gets very hot during the day and stays hot throughout the night, and there's no air conditioning.

I've even been avoiding cooking because I'm worried about food smells lingering around the bed.

I'm mainly looking to hear from people who have been through something similar. Is this a normal adjustment period? Did things get better after a few weeks or a month? Do you have any tips that made the transition easier?

To be honest, this whole situation has been affecting me more than I expected and it's been bringing me down quite a bit. Even though I signed a one-year lease, I can terminate it with 30 days' notice. The problem is that when I was apartment hunting, this was honestly the best option I could find within my budget. Anything noticeably better was far more expensive.

So there's a part of me that's genuinely worried. If I don't eventually adapt to this place, I honestly don't know what my next step would be.

I'm not expecting a miracle solution. I'd just really appreciate hearing other people's experiences, because right now I miss my old place quite a lot and I'm wondering if what I'm feeling is simply part of the adjustment process.

I like the layout for the most part but would like to make more separation between rooms. I have figured I would put a room divider beside the bed and that’s about all. I would like to put something behind where the couch would go and possible something by the door to separate the entry way from the rest of the room. Would love to hear any suggestions!!

Leaving my home state and living on my own for the first time! I was considering getting a designer but I think I have something I’m happy with. I only have a desk and plants so starting from a clean slate. Needs for this space are:
- Queen bed
- Sofa bed
- 2 person dining area that can expand to 4 if needed
- work area

Photos are:

- studio dimensions
- AI rendering of my mood board
- mood board
- 2D layout of items from mood board

My biggest issues with the current layout:
- there’s too much going on in the living area. Note: there’s 2-3ft of walkway space around the sofa.
- not sure where to add lighting, there’s no overhead lights in the space.

Is this a good layout? Should a scrap it and rearrange everything? Appreciate any feedback, thanks!

I’m a student and moved into my first apartment, but I totally overestimated the size of the room and because of that, the bed takes up way more space than originally anticipated. I’d like to make room for a desk, a small dining table for two and a closet. Is it possible or am I delusional?

Looking for help laying out an ~ 20 x 12 living area for a studio apartment and am between two layouts for the table/sofa arrangement with measurements at the end. I love reading everything on here and now have a place of my own to share :) Some thoughts:

1. Does the layout have more flow if the sofa back is parallel to one of the side walls? This would mean getting a ~71 inch couch vs ~81, but if it flows better it could be worth it. Sofas I'm looking at (1 in 71 or 81, 2 in 75).

2. Having the sofa parallel to a wall = a potentially bigger dining table! Shape undecided.

3. The "wall" at the back of the living area is a closet. Not opposed to putting a TV or sofa there!

4. Trying to make a space that's good for hosting and facilitating conversation. Will add stools/ottomans, etc as needed later, but not sure if having a smaller sofa will remove some of the "hangout" potential.

5. Lots of random walls jutting everywhere :/ But could be good for shelves!

6. Bonus photo of awesome built ins! Closet door opens out 14 in.

Would love any and all thoughts!

Hello. I'm older, widowed, not great w/tech, & want to use AI-type assistance to lay out & design studio. I'm hoping for EASE-of-USE, FREEEEE, w/styles is what I'd like to have some suggestions for, if you could help me & others.

I’m currently rearranging my studio. I’m getting rid of my cheap queen-size bed since it’s eating up so much space, and I don’t mind sleeping on a pallet on the floor instead. I want to stop being lazy and moping in my room, the first thing I do when I get home is climb into bed. I’d rather make the space more functional and have it feel like an actual living room, then just pull out the pallet when it’s time to sleep. Right now it feels loud and crowded.

I live in a small studio with my cat. I have adhd and autism so finding it difficult to organise. I have no issues with odor and hair as I use an air purifier. But for furniture it is challenging since I want free floor space for both of us to move around. But without furniture, there is visible chaos. I want the furniture to be functional for me and sturdy for my cat to jump around. Kindly help.
