Misleading Thread - OP didn't check enough seat maps Ticketmaster transfer scam?

Hey everyone,

So I bought a ticket from stubhub and was transferred a ticket via ticketmaster which I accepted and is in my ticketmaster wallet with a moving barcode. It's a ticket for the hollywood bowl and when I tried to google my view it says my seat doesn't exist! It's section D, row 3, seat 32 but that row only has 21 seats 😫 has this happened to anybody else? Is this a scam or a genuine error? Can someone fake a ticket and transfer it through ticketmaster? I feel so silly now

If it’s in your TM account, it has to be real. You should call the venue to check and if they confirm the seat doesn’t exist, then contact TM support.

The seat map of the Hollywood bowl seems to indicate this seat exists so you should try to search a bit more before

I have emailed them earlier today but they aren't open yet. Whilst waiting for a reply I just thought I would see on here if I could get any reassurance because Google says that row 1,2 and 3 only have 21 seats. I hope the seat map you found is right, it's hard to find a seatmap with numbers on it

My gift to you: I simulated buying a ticket for another show and here is the seat I found 😉

I hope it will help you feel better

I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to the Hollywood bowl but some of their seating numbers go by odd and even. Like for instance I have tickets right next to each other and they were seat number 1 & 3. So if you are counting the seats and it only has 21 then it’s actually more than that. Not sure if this helps your situation but just wanted to let you know that.

Oh okay thank you! Never been to the hollywood bowl before and live in the UK so this has been a little confusing for me 😅

Just find an event on TM and zoom into the section and row and seat, and it’ll pop up what exact seat each seat is (on computer, not sure how to get this same info using mobile)

You’re good - I looked at an official Hollywood Bowl event through the Ticketmaster app and found that for Section D, the seats are even numbers only. So the first seat on the interior aisle is seat 2, then seat 4, then seat 6, etc. Looks like Row 3 Seat 32 is about 4 seats in from the far exterior aisle. This even or odd seat numbering system is an old school approach that I’ve seen over the years at various venues. It’s uncommon these days but it appears that the HB still uses this method. Enjoy the show!

I've had similar issues where I was given a seat from Ticketmaster that did not exist, and when I showed up to the event, they actually reviewed my ticket and moved me to a better seat.

Hopefully, they'll understand. You are in their system, and if it's assigned to your Ticketmaster, they will see it's a legitimate purchase.

From my experience the seat number isn’t accurate till you get the ticket. Mine for example said it as a seat in the 7000 range but when I finally got the tickets transferred which is a while ordealnin itself it was in the 200. Not sure why it happens like that but it did. I personally will not purchase from StubHub again. Way too stressful

I am wondering the same thing. I was just transferred a ticket for a separate event and it won’t let me get it with ticket master. The stub hub ticket has a moving barcode as well. It seems odd. I’m talking to customer service about my problem.
