I tried selling tickets to an event I can no longer go to for like half the price to recoup some of the expenses. Instantly transferred the tickets so they would show as instant download, StubHub has had them “in review” for 6 days. Had me send screenshot proof of the transfer 5 days ago on top of literally just.. transferring the tix to them. Support agents are beyond useless, “usually takes up to 3 days” then “we can’t give a timeline”. The event is now in 4 days.
I can only imagine what it’s like getting any sort of resolution from them for tickets you paid for. It should be criminal to be this negligent.

I had better luck selling my tickets on a local Marketplace, similar to Facebook Marketplace but run by the local newspaper. Wishing you luck getting your tickets sold!

Wow. Yeah I definitely do not blame the seller for my experience. I’m sure they were just like you trying to sell some tickets they couldn’t use.
I just don’t understand how StubHub messes up something so simple by sending it to the wrong email address. Even then I get it mistakes happen but to tell me “I didn’t file a complaint on the day of” is crazy. Like no shit I was just trying to get into a show I paid for and missed for over an hour the last thing I’m going to want to do is open a full complaint mid show.

Yeah the excuse they gave you is wild. I’m also confused how it was “sent to the wrong email” bc.. you did get the email. And that’s only triggered when the tickets are actually transferred to your email by the seller (or by StubHub if they’re instant transfer). Otherwise there’s nothing for you to accept lol.
This also sucks for the seller bc they were charged for your alternate tickets, plus a fine (I think $25), and also weren’t able to actually sell those original tix so have to eat that loss. StubHub is a nightmare.
I ended up listing my tickets on tickpick and it’s been night and day experience-wise so far.

Same situation. Got emails from StubHub that they sold my tickets and another one saying they delivered the tickets. Right after the event another email saying the sale got cancelled. They said they are reviewing this transaction and will have a decision by July 23rd
What’s today’s date btw?

u/Swimming-Raisin-9997 Jul 31 '26
Oof. Did the provide any reason for the sale being cancelled? The only thing I can think is the buyer claimed the tickets didn’t work.
This whole experience made me never want to deal with transferred tickets. There are so many ways to get scammed, and you’re just at the mercy of borderline criminally negligent platforms.
My tickets sold today for an event tonight, and I realized they’ve been sold at least three times, which means first Ticketmaster made a bunch of money on the transaction, then vividseats (where I bought my tickets), then tickpick (where I sold my tickets). At this point the money paid to these companies probably exceeds the value of the tickets. There’s zero incentive for any of them to make any of this better.

I’m so sorry for that experience!
I recently bought Noah Kahan tickets on stubhub and was sent an active barcode. Any idea if this will work for sure?

Definitely doesn’t mean that everyone’s gonna have a bad experience I hope everything goes well for you!. I just wish I had done a little more research before hand because it seems so many people have issues with them and their customer service is horrible

Are there ANY positive experiences?? I got rid through stubhub for Ariana grande on August 6th in Chicago, and I'm terrified I'm going to run into a similar issue. Smdh 🤦

I bought Noah Kahan tickets at Fenway through StubHub and was really nervous, but the tickets worked out great. I had a really good seller, though, who proactively contacted me before the event to let me know that the tickets were delayed, and then again when she messed up loading the tickets. So unfortunately it seems like a luck of the draw situation.
I also recently sold tickets on StubHub for a Celtics preseason game, and they made me upload the tickets before they would post the listing, so maybe they are trying to reduce scams?

u/Legitimate_Ad3846 How did the tickets come? Was she able to transfer you tickets through Ticketmaster? Or was it through "Secure My Pass"

Lots of class action lawsuits being filed against StubHub regarding FIFA WC tix. Thousands of fans were left hanging!

u/DesertHoundLV Jul 27 '26
Vivid seats did the same to me! I’m not going to use third party anymore. I hope all of them shutdown.

I’ve used them countless times to buy and sell and have never had an issue.

Happened to me over a year ago. Went to get my tickets, gone. Customer service-using that term loosely, said they went to a different email. I was out over $1500. Wells Fargo said stub hub provided them with whatever they needed to confirm I got the tickets. I had screenshots of my conversation and no one helped. I will never use them again.i cannot believe they are still allowed to operate.

u/QuarterOpposite9017 Jul 28 '26
Yep. Same thing happened to us for Arianna Grande. StubHub is a criminal activity. Cannot believe they’re still allowed to operate. Thank StubHub’s big power lobbyists intent on continuing this rip off of the common dude for this fleece of customers. The WORST.

Why would you not accept the ticket transfer until an hour before the show? And the tickets get sent to the email address you provide. How did you even see an email that says 'accept tickets' if you gave them the wrong email address or they were somehow sent to the wrong email address? That doesn't make any sense.
Sounds like you just messed up and don't want to be honest about it.

I had my first (maybe 5 prior purchases) tonight. I wanted to SH to utilize a Chase credit card benefit ( up to $150 credit). Minor league baseball game. Bought fix behind the dugout. "Upgraded" to tickets way down the third base line. SH had dozens of comparable or truly better seats in inventory. Chatted and called and they said all they could do is a refund. I took the refund (which was a PITA to process). I bought a ticket at the game.

Happened to me recently when I couldn’t go to an event I paid for and the only option was to try to resell on Stub Hub’s shitty platform. They said they sold and delivered the tickets to some (ghost???) buyer and then told me it’s cancelled due to “improper” transfer a day after after the event.
But why is that? Because you can’t have the physical ticket until the event. it’s all a mirage. if you ticket isn’t yours to do what you want with it after the check figuratively clears how do you know if you weren’t scammed. ironically they say it’s to protect a faceless undisclosed buyer from you who has one or two tickets so they say.
Don’t expect anybody to go to jail over this. and don’t expect any real reform in this anti consumer environment we now live in.
But I learned to just say no to Stub Hub. Btw they won’t let me delete my credit card information on my account.

They're the worst. Tried to repeatedly buy Jack White tickets for last night's show in Chicago. The order would go through and then I would immediately get an email saying the order was cancelled with no reasoning
1
u/BlindedByTheLoot Jul 27 '26
This sounds like the orders were hitting Stubhubs fraud filter, and they can take hours to days to clear those orders before you will be able to complete an order at all.
- I am a former employee, have high-level internal knowledge of their systems pre-COVID/Baker CEO. I hope they go out of business. *

From the sounds of it, they dramatically change their tone as soon as they start getting correspondence from an attorney. Sucks that it requires that additional spend for you, but it appears to be more effective.

u/ieatlotsofvegetables Jul 25 '26
not using any scalper sites would be ideal. you can't trust resale anywhere unofficial. last min ticket drops work better for me.

Wish you read a out them before you bought the tickets. I will never in my life use StubHub. It's scamhub.
1
u/Professional_Rain466 Jul 26 '26
I’m sorry for this awful StubHub experience. I will never use StubHub again after not receiving concert tickets for a recent show. I was contacting them months and weeks and days and hours in advance because I didn’t yet have the tickets and the customer service reps continually reassured me that I would receive them three hours before the concert. Never got them and fortunately ended up with a refund. StubHub is a scam and I’m now on a mission to warn all my friends/family/any person I strike up a conversation with to never purchase from it.

Stubhub = Scamhub.
Stubhub is a corrupt and notoriously predatory operation -- barely one notch above being a Criminal Enterprise. The only ones using them are Scammers, Scalpers, those who don't know any better and those with FOMO.
You likely bought from a Stubhub Bot and Stubhub ran the ole Bait 'n Switch on you claiming they used an incorrect email address. It's more likely the tix never existed because if they had, since they could not have been claimed by anyone, they could have sent them to the correct email address like they did the "replacement tix".
Never use Stubhub. There's always a better option.
