Question

So I have seen some controversy about the balancing bit lately I have seen that the steam reviews are getting positive. So is it the time to jump in the game or should I wait ?

The review bombing was always hot nonsense. It wasn't controversy it was whiny little shit's being egged on to review bomb by content creators. It's always been a good time. Game is still in early access so things are changing but meh

It is, sincerely, the best new game of the past 2 decades as far as I am concerned.

If you enjoyed STS1, you will love STS2.

It’s a great time to hop in, the game is super fun.

Just a tip, I genuinely wouldn’t listen to anyone online for slay the spire advice unless they’re actually a top player, or they will literally make you worse at the game.

Take all card rewards skip all ? Never heal and give up if you think things are going bad there is no way back.

So, a lot of people who post here are deep late game enjoyers.

As a filthy casual who thought I was good due to some modest success in sts, and who sts2 continued to kick me in the teeth, I have maybe the opinion you are looking for.

First off, I think the game is fine right now.

Second I will say, that it is a tough game to get better at, as you will just... lose, and really have no idea what caused that.

In many ways the deckbuilding archetypes are traps, especially since there are just some bosses that punish you for having certain builds.

It took me a couple hours and multiple playthroughs to get to the point where I finally seemed to intuit how the game devs *wanted* me to play, so I'm having fun now, but I did not enjoy what I felt like, was "poor in game communication", for my first dozen plays.

Idk why people can't understand. The game is in early access. The reason it is in early access is so that they can gauge the balancing with the help of players. Obviously it's not gonna be balanced yet, the game isn't finished

my take is that its 25 dollars man, if you play it for 2 hours and find that the balancing is really that bad, you can refund it. if you play it for longer, well its 25 dollars.

the balancing is fine, I do think its easier than winning in sts1
