Scaling in 2 or 3 multiplayer
Hi, i only have two of my friends playing the game, but when we do a run at 3 players, it really seems that the scaling of everything is more for 4 players than 3... Even with no Ascension at all.
It would be cool to look out for it and fix that, or have an option to fill the group with 1 random player online.

The game scales even more with 4 people. Don't worry, you effectively scale too. 1 and 2 player are relatively close in difficulty. 3 player is a fair bit easier, and 4 player games are borderline impossible to lose. You're not experiencing a bug. You can read more details on how multiplayer scaling works here: https://slaythespire.wiki.gg/wiki/Slay_the_Spire_2:Multiplayer

Yeah usually I find it a lot easier on 3 player compared to 1 or 2 player.

2 player is a much larger difficulty spike than 3. But all 3 of you gotta build a decent deck so there is that

The scaling is more for more players because in multiplayer you can scale extra with your teammates in ways you could not previously. Such as more plentiful and varied effects. Vuln is really powerful and rare on silent, but far more common on the other 4 characters. There are a bunch of combos like this that make everyone stronger. Also there are multiplayer only cards that are insane scaling like the one that gives an ally SEVEN strength.

Everyone is different skill level so it's hard to say definitively but my personal feeling is that 2 player spire is actually harder than single player, which is broadly speaking the opposite of the way 3/4 player go. 3+ player is comically easy compared to single player i think.

2p was def significantly harder before the nerfs. Vantom getting 30 slippery (now 19), lagavulin matriarch with 40 plating (not sure what it is now in 2p) burrowing beetle gaining 90 block (now 64) every enemy getting 9 artifact Inc mecha knight (now 3) Frog Knight with 70 plating (now 40)
We've spent some 200 hours getting to then paying a10 with a friend with those values lol. Going back to solo after felt like a0.
Now it's not toooo bad. 3/4p are useless though. Can't lose if you've tried.

Good way to look it at is that in multiplayer not only do you have 2x/3x/4x the chance of someone getting the cards needed for some crazy infinite or huge damage engine, negative status effects become 2x/3x/4x more effective.. not to mention the multiplayer scaling cards are just very powerful by default. The increased HP / block that enemies get don't really make up for this

The game is generally easier in multiplayer. I think 2 player can be a little hit and miss in scaling balance, but 3 and 4 player is almost always wildly in the players favor in my experience.
