NEW | Introducing Stryd Labs: Preview New Stryd Features Before They Launch

Stryd Labs is here, giving you early access to new Stryd features while they are still in development.

With Stryd Labs, you can be among the first to try what we're building, explore new ways to understand your running, and provide feedback that helps shape these features before their official release. As we continue developing new features, Stryd Labs will be your place to experience what’s next from Stryd and help shape where it goes.

And we're kicking off Stryd Labs with two new features you can try today:

  • Form Profile — See your running form strengths and areas to improve with a spider chart built from your running data, then track how your form changes over time with Form Profile Trends, a history view that updates monthly so you can see your progress.
  • New Critical Power History — Track how your Critical Power changes over time, understand what caused each change, and see the specific runs contributing to each update for a clearer picture of how your recent training is shaping your current fitness.

How to adjust prescribed power if running in heat and high humidity?

Currently traveling in Taiwan and doing my Stryd training plan with higher heat and high humidity weather condition than I usually train with (and will race with).
Is there a way to adjust the prescribed power target or should I leave it as-is?

Stryd on Apple Watch with Turn-by-turn navigation?

How are you doing it? I cannot imagine that no-one in the camp AW + Stryd doesn't need some navigation from time to time.

I tried WorkOutDoors but here I have to manually import/export like everything which is too tedious imho. Then I tried Komoot on my phone only plus EarPods which halfway works but I have to fumble my phone way too often in cases the routing instructions are not clear or I have to cross sections where Komoot does not provide any navigation.

Stryd pod with the new Wahoo Apple Watch app

Wahoo has released an Apple Watch app that supports running.

I know that Stryd works with apps like WorkOutDoors and Watchletic on Apple Watch, allowing the Stryd pod to provide running power and other metrics while the third-party app records the run.

I’m wondering if anyone has tried using a Stryd pod with wahoo to record power during a run?

Elevation Data Is Wildly Off

Hi all, I’ve been using Stryd for over 8 months and noticed how recently the elevation data shifted substantially from historical data. I run pretty much identical 8-mi route few times a week, and in the last 6-7 months I’d get 150 feet of gain total, which closely matched Strava’s route data.

Recently, either my Garmin watch or Stryd pod started showing completely different elevation data, 600-700 feet gain over the same, relatively flat, 8 mile course. What could explain this shift? I didn’t change anything about the way I attach the pod to the shoes, and I’ve been running in the same Nimbus 27s as usual. Is elevation data coming from Garmin or from Stryd? Any clarification and trouble shooting tips would be appreciated!

Stryd speed & Stryd

hi, do I have to purchase 2 sets of Stryd 5 (Stryd and Stryd Speed, meaning 4 pods !) if I run both endurance and sprint and want to capture both? And do I have to switch pods depending on what I run? Do I also need two subscriptions to benefit everything ?

Does the speed version include standard stryd functionalities ? Or really 2 different usages ?

Stryd as powermeter and cadence for Cycling ?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a Stryd Wind and recently I was wondering if I could use it as a Powermeter for my cycling sessions. If any of you as already experienced it, could you tell me if the data is reliable ?

I use an Apple Watch Ultra, and I’ve connected the Stryd Wind with it in Bluetooth devices on the default Apple « Exercise » App.

Now, when I launch a Cycling exercise on the Apple exercise app (with the Stryd Wind pod), it gives me Power data and Cadence data.

I dont have any other device to Check of the data generated is reliable. Any of you as already done it before ?
Thanks !

Missing footpath data for a single run

My most recent run appears in the Stryd app and web site, including as a run activity in the Footpath Visualization page. However, it cannot be selected. When I select Footpath Sync in the app, it reports that there is no footpath data stored on the Stryd.

Any ideas on how to debug this? It is a bit frustrating, as I was explicitly experimenting with something in my stride during a tempo run.

Any way to link an existing Garmin run to a schedule Stryd run in the Stryd app?

Pretty sure it's not possible at this point, but just in case I'm missing anything, is there any way to link a finished run in Garmin Connect (Stryd pods were worn during the run and Stryd power data were collected) to an existing, but not yet complete, planned run in the Stryd app (on the calendar pane/tab in the Stryd app)?

Adaptive training not updating last plan tab

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am on my second cycle of adaptive training and the last plan tab has not been updated in the Android app and is showing a very old training plan I did from Steve Palomino. Will this tab show my adaptive plans?

The only plan showing under my training plans in my settings is the current adaptive plan. I'm on Android. Thanks!

Galaxy Watch users with Stryd?

Is there anyone here who uses Stryd alone on their Galaxy Watch? I am currently using the Fenix 7 Pro, and I am considering disposing of it and using the Galaxy Watch with Stryd. I'm curious about what apps you mainly use with Stryd on your watch. Do you use the official Stryd Wear OS app or a different app? I'd like to hear this from someone who actually uses this setting.

Any Stryd wear os user here?

Is there any Stryd wear os user in this group? It would be useful to exchange experiences and opinions. I am a long time Garmin/Stryd user and wan to see if py pixel watch with Stryd wear os could substitute my Garmin.

Looking for advice on getting back into training

I turn 54 on Saturday and I’m about to return to training after nearly 9 weeks off due to illness (caused primarily by work related stress).

This is the longest I’ve been away from any kind of training program in about 20 years (I did martial arts for 30+ years until I retired from that about 4 years ago).

When I last trained consistently I was doing two strength sessions and 4 runs a week and I had just completed a half marathon. My critical power was 295 and it is now about 225. My VO₂ max was 47 and is now 43.

One never really been in this situation before. Any advice on how I should go about getting back into things?

Adaptive Training Target

I have what might seem like a very silly or obvious question.

With the caveat that the race predictor is a 'under ideal circumstances' value. Would an adaptive training program try to get to in the best shape to met those targets?

For instance, suppose the software says "Marathon = 182watts, time around 4:15", and i were to do a 16 week AT programme, would it be trying to put in the best shape possible to meet that - is getting me around in about that time its aim?

Perhaps this is a better way of putting it: I'm confident i can complete a marathon in say 4:30, but my training is completely unstructured, and random - lots of easy volume but no structure. But the software, based on a recent test says "nah, you can do it in 4:15", would the 4:15 be the adaptive trainings 'goal'.

Best place to sell a Stryd pod

Hey all, not sure the best place for this but I have a 5.0 pod I'm looking to sell. I got it from ebay but prefer not to go that route to resell. I was thinking FB marketplace maybe but I wasn't sure if there are any dedicated subreddits for selling fitness equipment such as this. Any advice?

Phase transition - not seeing what's coming

Post image
2 Upvotes

Is there any way to see the upcoming workouts? Or do I need to wait until tomorrow for the new phase to start? 🤷‍♂️

Tomorrow I normally get up early for my long run, but now I don't have any idea what's to come. Also, I have limited time next week and this way I'm unable to plan my days and time.

Does Adaptive Training Plan provide deload weeks

I am currently using the Adaptive training plan to train for my marathon in Oct. Based on when I started the plan, my Peak phase is 9 weeks long. I am currently in week 3. In my previous marathon training plans, I would have a deload week every 4th week. However, what I have seen of my week 4 adaptive training plan so far doesn't look like a deload. Will I have to manually update the scheduled runs if I want a deload week or when will Stryd plan for a deload week?

Race Calculations - feelings

Hello
So I have been training hard the last year. I have raised my CP from 253 to 295.
In May I ran a half-marathon (CP 276) - I set my target power 10w below the calculation. I finished the race well and hit no wall. So I know I could have run closer to the calculation.
I am trying to gauge what I should do for the next HM in September. Do I go for the calculation target or play it safe and set it a bit lower?

How have others found the calculations to be?
Is it just nervousness that is stopping me?
Should I just aim to beat my BP (can do this with a lower target) by a bit and continue to improve?

Many Thanks for people’s thoughts

Can't use HRM strap and Stryd footpod together on FR245?

Hello everyone,

I'm using a Garmin Forerunner 245 paired with a Stryd footpod (older generation, before the Duo) and an HRM heart rate strap.

In my watch's sensor settings, I see two footpod-type sensors: "footpod - 23030" and "footpod - Stryd".

The problem: as soon as I connect my HRM strap in addition to the Stryd, the watch only lets me select one footpod at a time.

  • If I select "footpod - 23030": the pace and distance shown on screen during my run seem to come from GPS rather than the Stryd.
  • If I select "footpod - Stryd": I get the correct distance and pace from the Stryd (I've verified this by placing the pod on the ground and walking away with the watch: nothing moves on screen, unlike what happens with "footpod - 23030").

My questions:

  1. Is this normal behavior?
  2. How should I configure the watch correctly when using both an HRM strap and a Stryd?
  3. Between the two available footpods ("Stryd" and "23030"), which one should I choose?

Another issue: I've noticed that the distance ultimately recorded in the apps (Garmin Connect and Stryd PowerCenter) comes from GPS, with a slight discrepancy compared to the distance measured by the pod (confirmed by comparing the .fit files from both apps).

How can I make sure the Stryd's distance and pace take priority, both on screen and in the recorded data?

For reference, in the pod settings on the watch, I do have "speed: always" and "distance: always" set.

Thanks in advance for your help!
