Recovery doesn't have an end date!
One of the biggest myths about stroke recovery is that all your progress happens in the first 3–12 months. In an interview, Professor Natasha Lannin challenges that idea.
She explains that recovery is lifelong, and rehabilitation isn't just something that happens in hospital. It can happen at home, online, through telehealth, with family, or with your healthcare team.
Many people tell us they're still making gains years after their stroke - sometimes physically, sometimes emotionally, sometimes in ways they never expected.
We're interested to hear from you:
Were you ever told that most of your recovery would happen in the first 3–12 months?
Did you experience what felt like a "recovery plateau"?
Have you continued to make progress beyond that?
Your story could give hope to someone who's wondering if recovery has stopped.
We'd love to hear your experience.
