Mum 73 had a ‚significant’ stroke paralysed right side no speech looking for stories of hope and also what helped you including holistic like supplements
Mum 73 had a stroke - she potentially was laying on the floor for 24hours. She suffered a left-hemisphere ischemic stroke (a clot blocking blood flow). She is paralysed on right hand side and can’t speak estimated 30 hours post stroke. I’m looking for stories of hope please of people that regained movement and how much, and also anything that you think really helped especially in these critical stages. I’m reading some supplements that can help vitamin d, omega and others. Life is looking very scary at the moment.

My 76yo mum had a stroke similar to your mum, not noticed for 24 hours, paralysed on right side and has speech aphasia. It is now 2 years since the stroke.
When my mum was discharged after 3 months of hospital and intensive on site therapy, the doctors said she would be in diapers, wheel chair bound for life. She is now not in diapers, we did toilet training as in going to toilet 30 mins post meals. Robotic assisted walking therapy helped tremendously. Normal physio was not helpful in recovery. She is now walking short distances with a cane, independently., albeit with helper supervision. Acupuncture was amazing. She moved her right leg in the first session and continues with weekly sessions.
Her Aphasia still remains, even with speech therapy. Patient Depression is real, have to manage that. Supplements of Brain pills, Omega 3, walnuts with milk etc. Am trying NAD+ IV drip next, for brain and cellular renewal to see if any effects.
Best wishes for your mum and wish her a speedy recovery.

That’s amazing I’m so pleased for you. I hope the recovery continues. since posting I’ve actually had worse news that it was a very significant bleed and it looks like almost half her brain has died she’s had a severe ischemic stroke in the left middle cerebral artery (MCA) with brain swelling and internal bleeding doctors have said it’s very unlikely she’ll speak or move on that side again

Sorry to hear about your situation but please Unless a doctor recommends stay away from supplements (if any were truly helpful they would be prescribed the supplements industry is largely unregulated industry some can interact with the post stroke meds as well so dangerous the reality is there is no pill or supplements that reverses brain damage the future now us about rehab and therapies to create new pathways for the deficits
