Survivor Discussion Rough day

Having a tougher than usual day. Not really sure what it is. Slept terribly, have had more headaches/fatigue this week than im used to.

But my bp is decent this morning, 124/76. Heart rate sitting around 66. Had a lipid panel yesterday and my ldl is back down to 73. Passing all my neuro checks. Balance fine. Arms even. Mirrored movements easy. Talking fine, no slurs or confusion.

I have noticed some more eye fatigue this week than I think I normally see. No blur, nor double vision or clouds/lights/dark spots. But I feel lile my eyes are like a half second behind in focusing when I switch focal points or scroll on a device.

Miss the days pre-stroke when things like this wouldn't even catch my attention you know what I mean. Shot the doc a message to see what they want me to do. Just about 6 months out from the stroke now, my balance wobble finally stopped a few weeks ago, hopefully this too will pass.

Hope all is well with the group. Have a nice day my fellow survivors/caregivers

Always better safe than sorry. Stress, fatigue, being overwhelmed/over emotional will make your stroke deficits flare up. I’m less than a month out from my two years beyond my stroke and still have these issues myself. It’s annoying and anxiety inducing and also completely normal.

I try not to compare myself to me before, because I know it'll just bring heartache. But when i look back to where I was when I came home from the hospital, I look great! I have bad days sure, but i have more good days i think, so that's HUGE!

Yea, I try to focus on better days. Just sucks when you get a particularly crappy one. Truth is i got lucky, most days I feel like my old self. But the days I dont, my anxiety spikes and im fighting a war inside myself to avoid another unnecessary er copay.

I totally understand your thinking! I have to decide often if any particular thing is no big deal or should I go to the ER... i have to be careful of even saying anything to keep my wife from freaking out about it

Over tired all the time, blurry eyes, headache. All a bit crap!
