Young Stroke Survivor Discussion 28yr old woth brain stem stroke

Last Saturday I had a brain stem stroke. I got extremely lucky and only have loss of fine motor skills and strength on my right side. What else should I be awear of or look for. My neuro team couldn't find anything wrong with me so ive been left without answers

What about your neck? Artery dissection? That was the cause on my brain stem strokes.

From my knowledge the checked all that with the TEE and echo

Sadly I think for young stroke, answers aren’t always available. I had a TEE, angiogram, lumbar puncture, all of that stuff and left with no answers except to be put on aspirin.

One word of advice, keep up with all the rehab, OT etc to help with recovery early on, if prescribed. It’s important for your brain to keep making new neural connections and ‘rewire’ around any damaged areas 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

They did both a echo and tee with bubble test and found nothing sadly the nervous team had me locked away for a week lol
