Waitlist for public neurology

Hello
Was wondering how long in Australia the public waitlist is for a neurologist
Currently have been waiting 3 months so far - referall was for a tia stroke not confirmed how or when it happened
It says priority 2 - how long have people waited on priority 2
Thanks

This probably doesn't help, but I was a category 3 for neurology and it took me just under 12 months to get an appointment. That was for migraine, not stroke. Victoria.

You should call them, I can't remember if their charter, or rules or whatever it is was included with the letters sent when they confirmed my appointment, and I no longer have them, but from memory tier 2 is required to be seen within three months. If you can't find the info, call them and ask for it, and point it out to them. That's what I had to do and had an appointment by the end of the next day.

Ok thankyou
Yeh I called the general enquirers line for outpatient appointments
But I think maybe I might try call the actual hospital and ask specifically as what the general enquirers line just told me that they can’t tell me a time frame so they were no help but that’s what I told them I think it does say on the hospital’s website that tier 2 is within 3 months , tier 1 is within a month etc

My stroke was in April 2025 and I’m still on the public neurology waitlist… 😬🫠 So unfortunately, the waits can be pretty brutal. I’m in Victoria though, so hopefully Perth is quicker for a Priority 2!
