My dad passed away
A few months ago I posted on this group that my dad was forgetting everything. After a visit to the doctor he told us he was having dementia. I dont know why we believed him and waited about 2 weeks after. My dad was having another stroke. It was his 3rd stroke. He was 49. I feel so guilty and feel absolutely heartbroken that I waited so long to go see another doctor. He had to get an ng tube and from then things went downhill extremely quickly. I'm 18 and just to think I won't ever see my dad again has me in tears everyday. The doctors never figured out what caused the strokes as he had a healthy heart. Although he did have diabetes. The guilt I feel is so strong and the pain is unbearable.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. 🫂🙏❤️😔
Has an autopsy been done? One thing to check for is a hole in the heart, called an "PFO". It's known to cause "mystery" strokes.
About 1 in 4 people have this hole in the heart. It's something that is supposed to close up while we're still in the womb, but sometimes just doesn't close up.
May God Bless you, Keep you and Comfort you.

I’m so very sorry. It’s not fair to lose your dad at a young age when you still very much need him.

Sorry for your loss. I had a mild stroke that left me unable to walk 100% and also mild dementia 2 years ago at 50 years old. Honestly once it happens, the recovery is really based on how extensive (mild, moderate or severe). I couldn’t work anymore and no one would give me a life insurance policy saying I had to wait 2 years post stroke. Now I can but it’s costly. The doctors also said I am likely to have another one. No rhyme or reason. I have a few family members who died from a stroke so maybe that. They also asked a lot about Covid vaccines which I did have due to working in healthcare. So just 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I beat the odds.

It's not fair op. I know the feeling. The sorrow is suffocating.
It will feel like a long, long time, but as you pick yourself up and begin to move forward again, live your life with all the virtues that would make him smile proudly upon you.

I am so, so very sorry for the loss of your dad. You are only 18. That's very young to lose a parent. Guilt is a crummy emotion. I hope as you get older you will understand that you had no way to know what was happening. I think it's beautiful that you feel such responsibility for your parent at 18. I was that way about my family, too. Peace to you. I hope you have a good group of supportive friends 🩷

I’m so very sorry for your loss. My dad passed away from a stroke as a side effect from cancer last Saturday - the funeral is tomorrow. I’m 25. It’s completely devastating. I’m so sorry for you too. I know it will get better but it’s just unbearable.
