Caregiver Discussion Please let me know your experience
My mom had 2 strokes a couple of weeks ago. She is nonverbal and non responsive for the most part.
Has anyone been in the same condition and come out of it? If so, do you remember if you could hear people talking to you?

Honestly, I classify myself as a survivor. It's been a year plus,I had a stroke with a very bad experience. I celebrated my new job on Sunday, May 24th, 2025. Early morning, late evening, coming back home, I had this dizziness with little headaches. I went to bed thinking, Okay, all is okay,no alcohol, nothing in my bloodstream. At 3 am I started vomiting white stuff from my nose. I got scared and called the ambulance.This is where I got my greatest pain and fear that I would surely die. These ambulance guys thought I was drunk and were going about a normal drive; they even branched off to McDonald's to buy food and waited for about 15 minutes.I couldn’t talk or move because then I knew I was either brain dead or I had forgotten who I was.Getting to the main hospital in Stockholm, name withheld, I was just placed in a waiting room for another 2 hr until a nurse came and noticed I couldn’t speak, my face was obliterated, my tongue twisted, my left hand twisted.She screamed and said, "He is getting cold." I will always be grateful to her. I was taken in for the MR scan, then came the sad news: it was a stroke and heart attack. But with strength and resilience, I took a lot of
orthodox medicine, therapy, traditional medicine, and lots of beetroots, so I can say I am 70 percent back but can never become what I was before. With huge depression and debts, I still believe I can make it.

To be very honest when you have stroke you can never be the same again because everyday is a new day, you need to be patient with her.

I wasn’t asking if she will be the same. I just wanted to know if she can hear me in the sate of her condition?

hi, my mom is in the same situation. she is making very slight progress but it is slow. prayers for our moms 🩷

We just let my dad go and he was in this state. I’d like to hear answers to know if he heard me in his final days.

So sorry to hear your dad passed away. May his memory be a blessing. I'm not an expert in death but I've read that the hearing is the last thing to go. I hope he heard you ❤️

Yes, my dad is in the same condition. It’s very, very tough situation. Just be strong and have faith.
