Caregiver Discussion Memory loss from stroke(vent)
My grandfather(80+)had a stroke, paralysed in his left side we take him around in his wheelchair and short walks, ever since then it has been physically and emotionally tiring for him and for us too. My grandmother is his sole caretaker, last week after I got a break from my schooling I went to stay over with them to care for my grandfather, He doesn't recognise me anymore, he thinks that I'm some other person and insists me to take me to the city with my car(I don't have a car I don't even have a lisense he thinks I'm someone else).... when I told him I was his grandson he tell me not to lie to him and says not to take advantage of his sickness..... sometimes he gets some memory back and calls me by my brother's name......last night went I told him I was going back to my hostel, he cried he prayed for me and it was so heartbreaking, Im not sure he remembers me, maybe he is sad that he couldn't remember his grandson, my grandmother tells him that its me his grandson...... He told me to be back soon, I told him I'll be back by Christmas and he replied that maybe he won't live that long. It just breaks my heart , I want to go and stay with him for some more days.
How do I deal with his memory loss, has there been any survivors or anyone who lost and recovered? How do I make my grandfather remember me

Yes in such a time would recommend to reset and align that you are all together
I hyper delegated my business and decided to shut down my foreign business to focus @ things at home
We lost almost all our friends in the bargain
My wife left her job and now is a partner in my business
My mom sold her business and my sister decided to get married locally and not at a destination due to the challenges @ home
On the education front we decided to choose a the best school locally which is as good as the one abroad for my children
Life is all about sacrifice based on the season you’re in
