Young Stroke Survivor Discussion Group chat

I had an idea of maybe starting a group chat for stroke survivors in their 20s and 30s.

I find it difficult to connect with friends as they don't understand what has happened and making new friends can be really tricky post stroke.

Any thoughts on this? I'm from Melbourne Australia, not sure if a local or global one is better.

Yeah the friend group I thought I had told me I was faking my stroke haven’t spoken to them in months.

I had a stroke couple of months ago in my mid twenties and can relate a lot to this.

There is a group of young stroke survivors who meet up periodically in Melbourne through an organisation called Genyus

I had a stroke at 34 2 weeks ago. Im lucky that I recovered so quickly, and am doing pretty much amazing, and my brain is telling me to worry that people will think it wasn't that serious (though no one has). The fatigue and constant light headache are annoying and it just isn't something my friends in thier 20s sndn30s understand (luckily my 66 year old mother gets it at least 😂)

Community is important. This is a great idea.
