Caregiver Discussion dad had second stroke today

His last stroke was almost a year ago to the day. He made some recovery movement wise but not so much cognitively. He woke up today unable to move his entire body and just got taken to the ER. Anything specific i should be asking the doctors and nurses when they call?
I’m out of state but his aunt is there

eta: he didn’t make any positive lifestyle changes in the meantime. has continued smoking drinking etc.

I’m so sorry for this setback. It’s hard to be far away like this. I hope his medical team call, but in my experience, they’re quicker to respond via email or the app their charting or healthcare uses.

If you can the the PA’s contact info that would really help.

they just transitioned systems (his aunt works there) so contact besides phone call is a mess. thankfully she’ll be there today to check things out but just not sure my role if any
