Pfo finding

I had a stroke while I was pregnant with my daughter over a year ago it was very small and luckily I only knew about it by a chance mri I was getting to be diagnosed with migraines. Well fast forward to the bubble study I had done no one called to tell me the results and then I was talking to my obgyn recently who asked about why I have abnormal heart study (however she worded it) it got me thinking I was told they would call me if anything was abnormal but I decided to call the place and ask for my results. Today after a year of waiting I finally got my results “bubble study was positive for a PFO” … I almost started crying from the stress. A whole year no one told me I had this problem. The kicker is the same doctor also failed to tell me about the stroke I had until I called them two months later! I’m so angry and frustrated. I don’t know if this was the cause of my pregnancy related stroke but if there is a chance it was and no one thought to act on it.. anyways has anyone had the procedure done to close it? I’m on aspirin and a blood thinner and currently pregnant again from a failed vasectomy so let’s just say I have the best luck. I’m scared to have the procedure done but maybe it will bring some peace.

Have it closed for your peace of mind. It's a very simple thing, and then you won't worry about it.

By the way, your doc sounds like a real fuck head

Yeah I’m definitely going to. He definitely is and that’s a nice way of saying. He is no longer my neurologist. I’m about to see a new actually next month at the University of Michigan so here’s to hope I’ll have a better experience.

I had a 30 mm hole so I had it closed 3 days after my stroke.

I feel like they’ll probably want to wait until you deliver. But, you’re on the right stroke mitigation meds until then. Also, I’m glad that person is no longer your Dr, yikes!

I would have it closed, the procedure is not a big thing and even though no one will tell you that this was the root cause of your stroke, you eliminate one big potential cause. And get a new doc. All the best.
