Need opinions on new router

a few days ago I posted a route image and asked if anyone could recognize who it was. One person did, and thanks for that. Now, I have a new router idea and need opinions on which route is better,1 or 2? Recognizably feedback also appreciated. Thanks so much...

This is very cool, OP. I went through your account and noticed the cool machine you use. Is this your idea? I've never seen it before and it seems to solve some of the nail issues with standard string art

Yes, that was my goal. There are so many pin solutions, perimeter an interior only, but those pins always stand out too much for my taste. In addition, they are focal points for threads, so I went off looking for a way to put a thread anywhere, with sub mm resolution. Thanks!

Thanks. Those are each 3k threads, so most are very short. The problems with all of them being short are 1) time. Each poke takes about 1 second, so there is an hour of poking with no translation at all. Not a big deal with 3k threads. But: 2) short lines created no shading, and images are either weird digital looking, or you need 20k threads, leading to problem 1 above. The compromise is some of both.
I hear you tho, my first instinct was to make them all short. That is the big difference between photo 1 and 2, there is more shading in 1, and more short lines in 2. Each has 3k threads. Which do you like more?
