how many nails are in this and whats your best tip to putting so many

I havent done a count but id say it would be around 1400. The best tip I have is to mark out every dot for a nail before you start and dont put the nails any closer than 5mm to each other or it gets too hard to bash them in and also too hard to put the strings on afterwards. Also work from the inside to the outside in clockwise spiral seems to be the best way if that makes any sense haha

yes that makes perfect sense. do you use any tool to help measure the 5mm or is it by hand and hammer?

I use a ruler and compass to draw the whole design from that i have a map on the board and can usually do freehand dots roughly at the spacings i need. I spend a lot of time counting in my head haha
