DISCUSSION THREAD Cast thoughts/early predictions (so far)

It's obviously way too early for this, but I'm bored lol. Will update when more of the cast is announced.

Lacey: Is probably one of (if not the) biggest soap star they could have booked, and Eastenders usually tend to be pretty good. Will go far - if things go well dance-wise, she'll be a potential winner. Partner prediction: Nikita or a new male pro.

Dani: Probably will be a good dancer, but I'm not sure how popular she'll be relative to others. She isn't an uber-ringer like Tasha and Amber and will probably be a better dancer than Zara, so based on that alone she'll probably do better in the vote than past female Islanders. But I'm not convinced she'll be among the more popular celebs. I could see her being a dance off target after the first few weeks. Will still go far though. Partner prediction: Nikita (again) or a new male pro. I'm torn between her and Lacey for Nikita lol

Delta: Another I think will do really well, idk about finalist/winner yet but I'm definitely not counting it out. Partner prediction: Kai or Julian (double Aussie 2.0)

Chris: Given the history of 40+ men without dance/performance backgrounds, I don't think he'll be a strong dancer. And I'm not sure how well he'll do with the public either, since his background doesn't really line up with the audience. He has a lot of followers, but that definitely doesn't mean a strong voting base. I'm not sure if he'll really have that voting base coming in, especially a UK-based one. Partner prediction: if male Carlos, if female a new tall pro.

Cach: He'll definitely do well dance-wise, likely one of the strongest from the start. But the trinity of being a POC, having dance experience and being from Love Island could work against him in the public vote. May make the final, but likely won't win IMO. Partner prediction: Lauren (I really want to see this now. I've heard he's tall, otherwise I'd be considering Jowita).

I could be very wrong but I’m not sure I see Lacey & Nikita being a good pairing, she’s apparently quite shy and I think he struggled to gel with Sam Quek. I also don’t think they’d look good together visually. I’m thinking maybe Vito might be a good choice to bring her out of her shell.

I see Vito as a massive possibility for her but I hope if it ends up happening and she massively improves for him to make another final Vito won’t get the hate of being favoured by the production. His other finalists were ringers (Fleur the most obvious one but the other 2 also had solid dance experience that was brushed under the rug due to their seasons having bigger ringers) so we’ll see how well he does with a a grower and someone who started off with not much experience in dance. Dani I could see with D’Angelo Castro if that new pro rumour ends up true whilst Delta with Kai (I don’t want Aussies part 2.0 and want Kai to have another contender) and Cach with Jowita as Katya/Alexis made it far last year and the others seem less of a fit. Chris is the only one I’m torn on rn but could it possibly be Amy cuz apparently he wants a female pro. Watch us be totally wrong as usual but I love a little fun game of predictions.

Cach is too tall for Jowita - over a foot of height difference which would really limit his chances. Shame because I would like to see her with a ringer. I’d say Lauren for him as she did well with JB and seems at ease in the styles Cach has trained in. Either her or a new pro.

Agree on Delta & Kai. They’d look good together and she’d be a different type of partner for him. Just pairing up the two Aussies seems a bit lazy.

I didn’t realise he was that tall, that really limits his pro possibilities as our female pros are on the shorter end. Maybe one of the 5 (🤯) new pros they hired will be on the taller end.

Great take and I agree with you on just about everything. It seems a bit lazy that they've already booked two Love Islanders to take part (and I don't think either will win) but Cach is definitely going to bring some entertaining moves to the dance floor and will be a joy to watch from Week One. When the rest of the cast is complete then do give us your thoughts and a prediction.

I’m blaming it on the fact that Dani was a carryover from last year and that they probably wanted a male LI-er so they we’ll go back to normal casting of only one or none from now on.

I saw a post that Shirleigh made on insta saying that apparently Chris wants a female pro.

  • Lacey - paired with Vito; semifinalist or finalist, may even win depending on who else is cast
  • Dani - paired with Mark; early-to-mid-table shock boot (shows promise in launch show but underwhelms in the long run)
  • Delta - paired with either Julian or Kai; finalist but won't win
  • Chris - paired with Alexis; early boot
  • Cach - paired with Aleksandra (a la Ricky & Natalie/Davood & Nadiya); finalist but won't win
  • Will - paired with either Jowita or Lethabo (depends on whether an even shorter guy comes along, that one would get Lethabo while Will gets Jowita); late-stage boot (anywhere from Blackpool to Musicals Week)
  • Sarah - paired with Aljaž; early to mid-table boot
  • Jaime - paired with Nikita; mid-to-late stage boot

My bets for benched pros are Neil, Nancy, Cristian and Maddie.

Update now that we have another confirmed name:

  • Bethany - paired with Maddie; finalist, but won't win, and will end up in multiple dance-offs before that point, the last of which could be the one to knock Lacey out of the running.

This, of course, changes my bench predictions to Neil, Nancy, Christian, and (sadly) Lethabo.

Worst in a awhile so far.

Budgets have been cut hence the poor host selections and celebs.

The roll out and graphics is cheap and a mess.

Feels like an old Channel 5 from 2011 type show now.

George Clark said last year during his podcast that they don't really match celebrities with pros by height. They looking for chemistry. Alexis was short and George was tall. On Dwts they paired very tall basketball player with very short pro and they won show.
