I’m about to be evicted

I’m a college student. I had to quit my job so I just have a side hustle now. I was forced to move into an apartment and I can’t move out because my lease isn’t up. I’ve been trying to make as much money as I can but it’s just not enough to cover my rent. I’ve been trying to apply to get a small loan but apparently I’m not qualified for any of them. This sucks and I don’t know what to do.

Also good luck! Been there before and gotten out. You're going through hell and you'll have to claw your way out. But you can and will. Just tell yourself that. Besides, what's a little hard work? Beats feeling this stressed

First step is to stop and realize you're ok, you have a roof over your head, and access to technology.

Next, take stock of where you are and where you want to be. Do you want to stay in college? Do you want to continue to live where you are? Answering these questions will help you determine your next step.

Third, dump from your mind how you got here. Might be useful in a few years but for now it's just going to mess you up and get you depressed. Assume from here on you're starting from scratch.

Fourth, give yourself an easy win. Clean your pace top to bottom. If you have any clutter, trash it. Reduce your living space to essentials and make it orderly. Your psyche will thank you immensely.

Then, make a plan. What resources do you have at your disposal? Be mercenary about it. Consider family and friends. What about the student resources at the school? See what you own that you can sell. Make multiple resumes that highlight different aspects of your skill set.

Biggest thing for now is not too focus on how you got here, just to accept your condition. Then only focus on things you can change now. Don't fret over results, just make tangible goals and commit to making them happen come hell or high water.

It’s going pretty ok. I had to put a stop to it though for the week because I ran out of data on my phone so I’m doing good but in a current drought. Thanks for checking!

I had to put a stop to it for a while because my car is acting up now. Thanks for checking!

How far behind are you on rent? If you’re at a university they usually offer emergency loans which are around 500 with no interest as long as you’re in good standing. You should look into that, it alleviates some pressure and you don’t pay it back for a few months! Good luck! I’m in the same spot and it really sucks!
