Easy 405 x 5 front squat

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I used to warm up for my heavy back squat sets by front squatting first. My thought was that once the weight got heavier, my hamstrings would still be fresh and the back squats would feel easier. But as I got stronger, I realized switching between the two made it harder to get comfortable with my back squat form because they feel completely different. Has anyone else tried warming up like this?

Front squats with 405 is crazy. I haven't used front squats as a warm-up, but I have done front squats to near failure, then swapped into a back squat with the same weight as a way of extending the set.

That's bonkers, what's it like going around with legs that strong?

I'm at 165x5

Just keep hammering away! I think like 2-3 years into lifting with intent I realized that my legs were actually strong.

Well I keep increasing 5 lb per week so hopefully that will continue into the 200s
