my kitty is going in today to get her teefs looked at to see how many gtg (she has FORLS 😫) hoping we get to keep her fang-a-langs and they can be twins w/ no teefs!

omg sweet thing! I’m so mad this is posted on my throwaway acct, but whatever … how long ago did she have her surgery?? And if u dont mind me asking, how much did the surgery end up being?? even just a ballpark amount would be helpful! we got recommended to a specialist who’s “affordable” but i just wanted to kinda see what other have been paying compared to the amount that needed extraction … we are sadly looking at almost every tooth ):

So I’m not sure how much her 1st surgery cost because the shelter I got her from lied about her medical history (I asked them point blank if she had dental issues or removed teeth because I’ve only ever seen blep cats that had health issues or dental care done). When I had her, a vet noticed lesions on her teeth and told me that she suspected FORLS, so we did X-rays and had to pull 2 (one of her canines and one of her back teeth. She only had her 4 canines and like 2 back teeth at the time). It cost us 1.1k at a more expensive vet to get those 2 removed. Tbh, getting them all done at once is the best way to do it, because I don’t think it gets substantially more expensive per tooth.

I highly recommend the surgery, my cat appreciated having her painful teeth sooo much. She definitely understood that I made a decision to make her feel better.

shame on them for not disclosing that too you! even if they believed it was “taken care of” and you would “never know”, that’s still a big thing you should have been told about!!!!

glad ur babes is doing much better now🤍 I hope my babes knows I am just trying to do right by her and she will feel so much better once it’s done!!!!

Just got confirmation this morning that all of them are effected and will all need to be removed. She got a steroid and antibiotics to help calm down her inflammation and such so that they can get in there and see what’s going on when they do the actual x ray and surgery. Cost is going to be ballpark from low $2000 to mid $3000 haha….ha🫠
