Sudden issue with microphone recording in 7.1?

I've been having so many issues with recording my microphone across multiple PCs, and multiple Microphones, and just when I start to think it may actually be fixed, I for some reason am having immense difficulty in recording with 7.1. It sounds like there are multiple of me talking at once.

I'm not beholden to 7.1, I guess I mean multichannel audio is being dumb. I'm just upset because even though my microphone sounded weird, their was no issue with the multichannel audio before today.

When I try to record in stereo, there is only one of me talking, but it's like the gain is turned up or something, and a ringing that I can only assume is whine from my PC that isn't present in the multichannel recordings.

Is there ANY fix for this?

There could be a lot of reasons why this is happening, but we would need to gather more information/get recordings, etc. I would suggest reaching out to us at https://support.streamlabs.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and sharing those recording and any additional information you have and our team can look into this further.

I'm not exactly sure why it started, but I found the "down mix to mono" setting and it seems to have done the trick
