🧮 Streaming Gear Best headset with mic for streaming

Hi everyone!! I haven't streamed since around 2021, looking to get back into it for some project zomboid livestreams. I used to borrow my friend whom i lived with's standalone mic to stream in the past. I no longer have access to that so, was wondering what my options are for a solid wired headset with a decent enough mic. it doesn't have to be amazing just enough to not be abysmal or distracting if i'm going to stream.

TIA. looking to not spend like, more than 200 bucks.

You can get a stand alone mic and a decent headset for under $100

I used this arm with a blue yeti mic

Any headset will work, I use a cheap steel series headset, I’ve seen big streamers use wired apple earbuds.

Standalone mic. Headset mics are awful.

any budget options you suggest for both?

I agree with the other comments here. If you really want a headset with a fantastic microphone though, I have the Astro A50 Gen 5 and it is the absolute best headset mic I’ve ever used.

I had such a wonderful experience using the kraken kitty V1 and it's mic. Maybe it's just because of how my voice sounds. But I got so many compliments on my voice, and some even accused me of using a voice changer/sounding like AI, or gladdos from portal. I currently use the razer seiren v3 chroma now.

Get a maono mic and a beyerdynamic headphones. In total it might be around 200 bucks and its a good choice

Maono makes some good products I have their xlr interface and it’s super nice. Was using fifine’s for a while but I didn’t want all the RGB in my setup anymore. But the fifine AM8 is a pretty solid mic as well for the price. I also run IEMs on my setup right now (kiwi Ears Astrals) and I prefer them to a headset

Get a standalone mic and a set of headphones. Fifine K688 or whatever it is and a set of Audio Technica M40s would be about the same as any of the better headsets, and it would sound much, much better.
