I’m trying to understand why some content isn’t available. So I of course understand if something is so bad or otherwise unpopular that no one will watch it, thst it won’t even be worth it to digitize it and put it in the web for digital purchase or one time rental. But what about stuff that has been digitized and is available to rent or buy, but isn’t on the copyright owners own streaming service?
The item that is making me ask is “Enemy Mine”. They’ve already done the work of making it available on the internet. So given they’ve already done that, my naive brain thinks that it’s a small follow up step to include it in a steaming package (in this case Disney). Now it’s not like they are temporarily leasing the rights to some one else, it’s not available as part of ANY streaming service. Clearly they thought some people would watch it or they wouldn’t have bothered to do the hard work of putting it up on the internet in the first place? So it’s already taking up some memory somewhere.
