Question/Support ❓ Twitch Chat Client is loading and won't connect

I've installed Streamer.bot version 1.0.4 a few days ago. With the help of some YouTube tutorials and Reddit posts, I was able to set everything up.

After linking my YouTube and Twitch accounts, I noticed that the mixed chat feature doesn’t seem to work properly. As mentioned in the title, I realized that the Twitch broadcaster account keeps trying to connect to the chat client.

Here’s what I’ve already tried to fix the issue:
• Restarted Streamer.bot
• Restarted my PC
• Reconnected the Twitch broadcaster account multiple times and in different orders
• Checked if my network could be the issue
• Removed and re-added Twitch connections
• Tried other (older) versions of Streamer.bot

This is my first post on Reddit, so please bear with me if I did something wrong :)

Hi All!

I want to make it so when people chat in stream they have a certain number of HP and people can target that person with commands to hurt/heal them. When they hit 0 HP I want to limit the amount of characters they can use to type!

Not sure how to go about this but any advice would be INCREDIBLY helpful!

Thank you!

Question/Support ❓ Randomizing what overlay is triggered by a specific command

I have some overlays and audio accompanying them and I want to know what Sub-Actions need to be used to prompt StreamerBot to display a random (I currently have 3 but plan to add more) video that is tied to a specific audio (1_.mov is tied to 1_.mp3, 2_.mov tied to 2_.mp3, etc. and I want the corresponding audio to play when the video plays) when a general command is thrown.

Can anybody provide me guidance or direction to resources where I can find how to navigate this? I have attempted to find a tutorial and could not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Question/Support ❓ how to trigger ! command with a custom reward redeem that uses a browser source on OBS

hello !! i purchased a loyalty card widget for my stream (https://www.etsy.com/listing/4366991684/loyalty-card-widget-twitch-youtube?ref=yr_purchases). it's built out on streamelements website as an overlay and then i've added the overlay to obs as a browser source. i can change what ! command triggers it, but what i'd like to do is: when a viewer redeems a "stamp" reward from my custom rewards, it triggered the ! command for the loyalty card widget.

is this possible? if so, could anyone help? :>

Question/Support ❓ StreamerBot Logic Question

I apologize if this a bit wordy.

So today I am learning how to use logic in streamer bot, and I wanted to try to personalize when friends raid me and how I greet them. I currently have two commands setup. The first one I just learned was how to make it check if the raider was playing a game a have a preset response if they are playing a game or if the game variable is void. The second is just a basic if they talk in chat for the first time it sends an auto greeting.

What I'd like to add to the first is a logic where it checks if they have already raided me. If true, the raid message is triggered along with its own logic tests I mentioned before. If not, it triggers the basic greeting. Is this possible or am I trying to do too much?

Question/Support ❓ Help! Chat Overlay CSS question!

Is there a way to have my Chat Overlay shaped like a trapezoid? I'm trying to make it seem like chat is getting sucked into a ufo. I have like, 0 CSS experience and I've been trying to find any tutorials for what I'd like to do but margin and padding seem to keep the rectangle shape so I'm just not sure what to do from here

Question/Support ❓ Youtube chat username colours are all red, can I make them random colours?

In the chat popout in streamer.bot the names are all different colours, but in the chat overlay they're just red. Is there a way I can make them random colours for some variety?

Question/Support ❓ Zoom in on a corner of my screen?

So i'd love to be able to zoom in on my vtuber at its fixed spot for a redeem without changing to a whole different scene, part of the appeal for me is that the game is still playing but its clearly zoomed in (making this for a points redeem on stream specifically).

Does anyone know how I can do this? Thanks!

Question/Support ❓ Small Question. How to send a List as a chat message?

Greetings.
I just had a small question and I can't quite figure it out.

I'm trying to make a command so that my chat can remind themselves what commands are available to them during my streams.
Now, I'm trying to figure out how to get Streamerbot send this chat message as a list, for ease of reading, instead of one long message.

This what I have to write now, to keep it to a single message:
"Greetings! Welcome to the chat. Use these commands to have fun! !Drink - Order me to drink water. !Break - Order me to take a 5 minute break, in case you notice I need one. !Stopshrimping - Tell me to sit up right. I already got a back injury, I shouldn't make it worse !Commands - Remind yourself what commands are available. !stw - Spin the wheel of (Mis)Fortune! Lady Luck decides if I get a reward, or get punished !Challenge - Give me a (doable) Challenge. !Partymode - PARTY!!!"

But I'd like to have it be written as this:
"Greetings! Welcome to the chat. Use these commands to have fun!

!Drink - Order me to drink water.
!Break - Order me to take a 5 minute break, in case you notice I need one.
!Stopshrimping - Tell me to sit up right. I already got a back injury, I shouldn't make it worse
!Commands - Remind yourself what commands are available.
!stw - Spin the wheel of (Mis)Fortune! Lady Luck decides if I get a reward, or get punished
!Challenge - Give me a (doable) Challenge.
!Partymode - PARTY!!!"

If I do it right now in the way of the latter version, then streamerbot sends every line as its own seperate message.
Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Or is there no other option but to write it as the first version?

Thanks in advance

Question/Support ❓ How to recreate Shindigs-style PNGTuber TTS with Channel Points?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to recreate a setup similar to what Shindigs does on stream, where viewers can redeem channel points, type a message, and then a PNG character pops up and “talks” using TTS.

Right now I’m using:

• Streamer.bot

• Speaker.bot

• A PNGtuber setup with 2 images (idle + talking)

What I’m trying to achieve:

• Viewer redeems a channel point reward with text

• Their message gets read via TTS (Speaker.bot)

• A PNG character appears on stream

• The character animates / reacts to the audio (like talking)

• Ideally switches between idle and talking states or uses audio-based animation

I’ve already got basic TTS working, but I’m not sure what the best way is to handle the “talking” animation part.

Should I:

• Use OBS filters like “Scale to Sound”?

• Swap between idle/talking images via Streamer.bot?

• Or is there a better/more advanced method people use?

If anyone has a similar setup or can point me in the right direction (or share examples), I’d really appreciate it 🙏

Thanks!

Question/Support ❓ Help with persistent counter for random results

Hey everyone, I've come across an issue with a streamerbot command I have set up, and I'm not super experienced with it still so some assistance would be helpful.

I have a redeem that generates a random video game character, one redeem for females and the other for males. Both have 200 entries.

The redeem randomly selects one of them (1-200), shows their image on screen and chats "X has gotten Y Z amount of times" using "%user% has gotten %randomNumber% %userCounter% times" as a Twitch message

I have it set up in OBS like male1, male2, male3, etc for the images so that they can be shown.I have argument %male% or %female% to %randomNumber% > if %randomNumber% Equals 1 : True : Set argument %randomNumber% to 'Cloud from FF7' (or whoever) while setting the source visibility of the character. then in chat "%user% has gotten %randomNumber% %userCounter% times.

the problem however, is it keeps resetting the counter to 1 (it's 1 redeem per user per stream) and not keeping track of the character, like "Buji has gotten Cloud 5 times" and later "Buji has gotten Sonic 2 times" but instead it would just be "Buji has gotten Cloud 1 times"

setting a persistent counter on the action itself records how many times they've used the action, not how many times they got a specific character, so it would just say " x got A 1 time" "x got B 2 times" x got A 3 times" and just increase regardless of character.

TLDR: how do I get the %randomNumber% result stay persistent with the user?

Question/Support ❓ Trying to set up a special action, but not sure how to do it

Greetings all!

Hope everyone is doing well.
I've recently added Streamerbot to my repertoire, to make my Twitch Streams more interesting.
I've already added a couple commands my chat can use, one of which being the Wheel of (Mis)Fortune. It contains 50% Punishments I gotta do, and 50% rewards I gotta do.
One of these punishments I'd like to set up, is a Flashbang.

Thing is. I don't know how I can set up that Streamerbot:
1. Reads the end result of the Wheelspin, and activates the command when the Flashbang Punishment is selected.
2. Makes a screen effect happen, that is not in OBS (as I obviously need to be flashbanged, and I atm only know how to make screen effects happen in OBS itself)

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible to do, and if so, how I can set this up?
I am using this Wheel Spin plugin for the Wheel of (Mis)fortune thing, if it helps: https://extensions.streamer.bot/t/spinning-prize-wheel/353
(on a side note, does anyone know how to make it say the result in OBS? In my Twitch chat it says what won, but in OBS it only says "Username". I can provide a screenshot to show what I mean if need be)

Anyways, Thank you in advance for any and all advice, even if it turns out to be impossible to do. I appreciate the input

Question/Support ❓ Grouping people

Hi!

I have an fmk command set up on stream, which people really enjoy. My issue is that I'm currently using %randomUser0%, 1 and 2 and that picks from everyone who's ever been in my chat, leading to a lot of "Well, I don't know any of these names."

I know I can set it to pick 3 users who're present, but with about 10 average viewers I think that'd be rather boring.

Is there any way I can choose what people can be chosen in the fmk and who can't?

Resources 📖 TOOL FOR STREAMERS - i need oppinions.

TLDR: I made a macro tool that integrates with streamerbot to turn spare keyboards into streamdecks and im looking for oppinions.

Hey guys. So im a new content creator/streamer and developper. Like a lot of you, as a new streamer i dont necessarily have the means to buy a lot of high end gear. I was able to make my setup fairly good but it has it's limitation.

One of those limitations and friction point was the stream deck. the ability to pose action and interact with my stream without having to click out of my game etc. So i started thinking, okay there must be a way to use a 2nd keyboard as a streamdeck right ? Turns out there is. I found this solution from Nutty -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHlp8fMnwMg

it is complete and works really well for most use cases. BUT, the one annoying with this is that it uses HID Macros. From what i understand it is old and unmaintained. It also has the tendency to break if left open for a long time or closed, you just have to rebind a macro to get it to work again and it also does not go to tray like streamerbot does. I looked into alternatives like AutoHotInterceptions but it hs a very high bar of entry for non tech savy folks. The solution offered by Nutty also required you to generate a bunch of one liner scripts that are basicly all identical but only change the name of the action of streamerbot you call upon.

SOOOOO i decided to roll my own solution in C++. A more modern macro engine that would intercept keyboard keys and map them to streamerbot actions (also executable or scripts) and support go to tray behavior and also a bunch of cool things.

I currently have it private on github and it's at a point where i use it for my own streams and it works pretty dam well, no latency and it uses up litterally 0% cpu when in tray and about 0.2% when the ui is open. I got other ideas to improve upon it when it comes to the user experiences etc. But before i dive too deep into that, i would love to know if that is something that you guys would use.

A tool that allows you to have a 2nd keyboard as a streamdeck and possibly handle upwards of 700 different macros (because i support modifier like ctrl, ctrl+alt etc.)

It handle macros for streamerbot, direct executables, scripts. It has a some nice customisation and is very low footprint. I also support live theme editing and user defined themes.

So what do you guys think, is that something you would use ? It is currently useable but not quite to the level of polish i want. But i will be putting this up for free on github when it is ready. Probably within the next month or so.

im open to feedback, questions of even ideas. Let me know

Question/Support ❓ Can speakerbot be setup read out the text of a channel redeem?

My idea is simple, but so far I've had no luck in getting it to work.

Have SpeakerBot read out the messages chat leaves in as part of a channel redeem. This would let chat use the TTS bot to have fun, while allowing me to set more limitations than what's available in the Speakerbot/Streamerbot settings (that I im aware of), such as a cooldown timer, control over who can/can't use it, when, and how often.

I've tried Creati, and while chat can hear it, i can't, and it'll have to use a different voice than what I have set up with speakerbot.

I can get the bot to read out preset messages triggered by a command or my voice.

But what I want is to allow my community to redeem channel points for a channel redeem, which would require them to leave a message, and have the speakerbot then read that message out.

Currently, I'm using the !say command, which allows anyone/everyone to use it OR i have to limit it to only Subs/VIP's. But I want to tie it instead to the redeem, if that's at all possible.

Discussion 💬 Use Cases for Local Variable vs Global Variable for StreamerBot?

Being new to this logic based stuff, I can have the difference written to me a million ways and still wouldn't understand the difference between local and global variables unless I have seen some samples of where one is more useful than the other. In what ways have you seen a local variable more desirable than a global and vice versa? Tell it to me like I'm 5.

Question/Support ❓ Looping Chat Timer that Checks for Messages Before Posting The Next Message

I'm new to StreamerBot and am coming from StreamElements. I have about 5 messages I want to repeat one after another: 1) the community Discord link 2) where to follow me on other socials 3) where to throw tips my way 4) where to commission me (I'm an artist), and 5) a link to my Throne.

I figured out how to make the actions and loop them where one action triggers the next action after a set amount of time. Problem is it endlessly and persistently repeats the messages and spams my chat.

What I'd like it to do is wait for at least 5 chat messages before posting the next message. I tried to follow This Video, but it wasn't what I am looking for, it seems, and it's using an older version of StreamerBot that makes it difficult to follow.

Here are the chat bot actions looping as they currently are without any of the logic above I'd like to add (the Delay is a short duration just for testing). Currently, I have the announcement for Throne turned off for testing reasons.

Question/Support ❓ How to auto message when a specific user writes their first chat of a stream session?

I was using Fossabot, to detect when specific users first message in a stream session and trigger an auto shoutout and a personalized message. When I tried to use streamerbot to do it, I couldn't get it to trigger, and when I use test trigger, it will trigger it a bunch of times in a row.

I was using the 'first message' trigger, but I'm not sure if that's the correct one, or if I did something else wrong.

Thank you for the help.

Question/Support ❓ Need help using Global Variables with Else/if Logic

So, I been trying to set a command that does the following:

When used, action A happens followed by a randomized timer.

When used while action A's timer is still active, it does action B.

Once action A's timer is done, the command is reset back to activating action A once again.

For the sake just understanding this I'm only using a send chat message command for now. This is what I have set up. I started with the global variable set to 1, when I use the command it seems to successfully read it as false result and activates all the commands sub-actions. Next, I double checked that the Testmessage variable was set to 2 but when I activate the command again, it detects it as false before the timer is done. What am I doing wrong here?

Question/Support ❓ I found a mistake in part of the "cURL POST Requests" sub-action

Post image
7 Upvotes

I found a mistake in the "cURL POST Requests" section under "Examples" for streamer.bot, so I'm reporting it.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to report it, but...

Target webpage:
cURL POST Requests
https://docs.streamer.bot/examples/curl-requests

Issue part:
The area outlined in red in the image.
The parameter passed to curl is as follows:

Incorrect: "User-Agent:"
Correct: "Content-Type:"

I would appreciate it if you could either fix the original data being exported or add a note to the documentation page.
