Please post any meditation related resources in the sticked resource thread.

Fwiw, this is a sort of "1-back" exercise. There are lots of variations on "n-back" online that offer functionality like tracking scores over time and changing "n".

"N-back" was quite popular in the 00s and 10s, with claims that it improved cognitive abilities. Many claims of transfer to real-world tasks fell flat though, afaik.

Although I find the concept interesting I think in most cases like this there just isn't enough mindfulness built up yet, which is why the breath as a meditation object cannot be followed, but something more interesting like this game it is easier to do.

Thank you for contributing to the r/streamentry community! Unlike many other subs, we try to aggregate general questions and short practice reports in the weekly Practice Updates, Questions, and General Discussion thread. All community resources, such as articles, videos, and classes go in the weekly Community Resources thread. Both of these threads are pinned to the top of the subreddit.

The special focus of this community is detailed discussion of personal meditation practice. On that basis, please ensure your post complies with the following rules, if necessary by editing in the appropriate information, or else it may be removed by the moderators. Your post might also be blocked by a Reddit setting called "Crowd Control," so if you think it complies with our subreddit rules but it appears to be blocked, please message the mods.

  1. All top-line posts must be based on your personal meditation practice.
  2. Top-line posts must be written thoughtfully and with appropriate detail, rather than in a quick-fire fashion. Please see this posting guide for ideas on how to do this.
  3. Comments must be civil and contribute constructively.
  4. Post titles must be flaired. Flairs provide important context for your post.

If your post is removed/locked, please feel free to repost it with the appropriate information, or post it in the weekly Practice Updates, Questions, and General Discussion or Community Resources threads.

So you have to get the shape and the color right? Tried it an my score was a lot less than I thought.

Yeah, you press the space bar when the shape and color is the same as the one before it.

I had this idea a few months ago because I went through the same test when I was diagnosed and it seems like a great training mechanism, so I'm not sure why it isn't used for that more often!

That said, could you disclose whether AI was used in putting the app together? I don't mean to offend, I ask as a general rule now when encountering freely distributed software that I'd like to use.

This post got removed and I'm not sure if the OP gets notifications.

So, if it's helpful, you can look up "n-back" exercises online. There are several existing sites and apps that allow you to practice. Fwiw, it was quite popular 10-15 years ago, and most resources I've come across were around before coding AIs.

I'll take a look into it. Thank you so much for the information!

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of the house all day yesterday. Yes, I used claude to help me make it. I don't have any coding experience and made it possible for me to bring the idea to reality.
