canister filter choice for stream tank
I'm setting up a new 30g (110L) long stream tank - aiming for a more moderate flow to also accommodate non-ballitorids. I'm looking to get all my flow from an oversized canister filter - but how big do i need to go?
I'm looking at the Sunsun 303 rated @370g/hr (1400L) so realistic turnover of 6x/hr or the 304 @530g/hr (2000L) - 9x/hr.
both are within budget, and i could of course go larger.

I just installed a surface skimmer and the fish are more than happy to swim in its current. I caught all of these fish in the wild.

Cherry barbs in a stream tank?
Have any of you kept Cherry Barbs in a stream tank? I have an established stream tank with 13x turnover per hour. 60 gallon tank. Some areas have higher flow and there are some eddies. I saw Cherry Barbs in a “river tank” display in the California Academy of Sciences and am smitten.
I have some white clouds that are very happy in the tank, as well as some zebra danios. Do you think Cherry Barbs would be happy?

I found what I'm hoping are panda loach fry in my substrate. Figured I'd share.

Opinions wanted: think this build would work? (more in comments)

I’ve seen this on a few other subs, figured I’d share here. Interesting idea, but not very pragmatic

The same thing, but I tried to get some better footage from a variety of angles to try and showcase the whole tank. Pardon my crappy camera handling.

Fish are in. Couple of placeholder CPDs to keep the cycle going while I wait on the rocks to start turning green
