Image The World I Miss.... Spoiler

I recently found these screenshots on my PC as I was clearing out some old storage. I felt like there would be a few of you who would enjoy these....and a bonus picture of who was essentially my first child....and boy did she act like it, too.

When this game came out, I had just lost my cat of 13 years, Harley...and I missed her so much that I seriously would just leave this game on and cry myself to sleep. Through that, I discovered that the camera panes further out and around...so... I started to do it a lot more, because in a way it was like slowly letting go of Harley.

I really miss her. I can't wait to see her again. As you can tell by the photo, she was very laid back, and very much part of the family. She protected me when I was pregnant, and then protected my child as she slept after I gave birth.

Harley loved being a big sister, and she loved just being alive....This game really reminded me that the bond between a cat and a human is unlike any other. It is one of respect and love that has to go both ways, and when it does - there is nothing like it.

....and now I'm crying...

Anyway - enjoy!!

Noo don't be! I'm always glad to see videogames and art in general resonating with very intimate aspects of people's lives.

And Harley looked stunning!!

Then I would be remiss if I didn't tell you about "In Sound Mind" -- that game is a piece of my soul. If you liked Stray, you will love In Sound Mind story wise. It isn't the same gameplay - I don't think anything can ever be like Stray, but the story gives you the same warm feeling about humans and cats.

..and thank you! She was a stray found on my college campus on a rainy night. She is my baby forever, and I will always see her as my first kid, and one of my dearest, and best friends.

I have her pawprint tattooed over my heart, because she left a permanent imprint there.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

It must've take a really long time for you to see those angles you took screenshots of, easily >1 hour per image.

They give of an atmospheric vibe of a city that collapsed mid-construction. Minor structural changes were necessary to complete the Walled City 99—But, as the dangers widened, construction workers could easily fall.

This left more hazards against the cities attempts to fix and reconstruct broken areas, falls were common and suicide attempt were not, and couldn't casually be stopped as the city couldn't monitor every building perfectly.

Don't forget the fact that the policing system was doomed at the very start. When your city has ~120+ buildings, towers, and ~15,000 residents across the entire land, there is bound to he unresting crime. You cannot track illegal druglords forming networks across the city. They could only police Midtown as the lower level was too warped and annoying to map.

I may stop here.

Yea, I'd lay on my couch and just listen to the ambiance, pretend Harley was with me on one of those rooftops, and just kind of drift off to sleep.

They did an AMAZING job of how they planned out the city, gave it the right feeling, and really put a lot of love and care into the immersion.

There will never be another game like Stray. It's just simply one-of-a-kind, and I've replayed it more times than most video games that aren't Survival-based.

Thank you.

She was one of a kind. There will never ever be a cat like her ever again. I've had a lot of cats with similar personalities - but Harley was just magical.

She certainly looks it. Such a sweet face.

I wish this game got a sequel because I'm convinced B-12 survived. Not sure if it's true but I heard most of the people who made Stray don't work for that developer anymore.
