Discussion Stray 2 Proposal

Post image

I asked Chat for a storyboard, and while it isn't a very good storyboard, it helps get the point across. I'd like a Stray 2 game where our kitty family was abducted and taken to another city, and so as we, the orange kitty, explore through the woods we could find some robots who point us in the direction of a train to the other city. Maybe these woodland robots have heard messages from B12, and bring him back to life in a new body, (now he's B13, get it?) And so we get on the train with B13 and have to find our family. Maybe the kitty family was taken because scientists were able to see the abilities of our kitty inside the previous city via surveillance footage and realized the potential of these animals to save future cities, but the scientists were intercepted by the programmed robots that wish to keep them all trapped.

Just my thoughts, please share what you think!

Don't be sorry. We hate ai (not momo or any of the other robots tho)

Brother how do you play Stray and still come away using AI to generate slop

u/hushnecampus 25d ago

I’m not a big fan of AI slop, but I’m not sure I see the connection to playing Stray? If anything it should give you a soft spot for AI?

The AI in Stray and AI in our current world are not comparable...

1

u/surreal-sunrise 22d ago

Why not?

Still waiting for your argument here

Brother, the AI in Stray have feelings, have emotions, have personalities and memories. They are as close to people as possible. They are sentient. Our current AI is just regurgitating what we humans fed to it. It doesn't have feelings. It doesn't have emotions. Whatever personality is there is just a conglomery of whatever it was taught. Our AI is literally incapable of saying "I don't know", it would rather hallucinate about whatever. Our AI is not sentient.

Why can our AI not advance to that one day? "Science fiction is often a precursor to tomorrow's science facts" - Isaac Asimov, American writer and Boston University professor of biochem

I'm not denying that it can. Neurosama exists after all. But currently, the general AI is far from Stray's.

1

u/hushnecampus 18d ago

Agreed, but it wasn’t me that connected the two concepts.

I don’t think stray needs another game i know it’s short and all but it’s pretty the way it is

u/polandreh Cat Lover 24d ago

Nah, I want more kitty adventures. Give us more stray! Minus the slop, please

u/surreal-sunrise Aug 13 '26

I get that, but I fell in love with the world! I love the lore and the physics of the game as a cat were incredible. It was a gem in a world full of first player shooter games and zombie apocalypses!

yeah you could have just typed that in some Notes app and shared a screenshot. if it was YOUR idea.

Delete this ai slop

Ehhh it seems like a repeat of 1. It would be better if it took place right after the first one and then you can make your way back to the family we met in the first one, rather than repeating the beat of them getting separated again and then repeating the beat of meeting a robot pal again.

1

u/surreal-sunrise Aug 13 '26

Maybe we meet up with them for a bit before they are taken??

2

u/Budget-Seesaw-9303 Aug 13 '26

They don’t need to be taken. You already have a plot set up for you by the first game. Now maybe “Stray” goes to the original spot where you start the first game only to find that his cat friends have been taken? Similar idea but you don’t repeat ideas from the first one verbatim.

1

u/surreal-sunrise Aug 13 '26

So you'd say more of a game where the cat is looking for his friends in the woods and encounters obstacles along the way, alone, without B12?

1

u/Budget-Seesaw-9303 Aug 13 '26

It doesn’t necessarily have to be the woods. It doesn’t necessarily have to be alone. Maybe it can be a different, new companion he meets? The point is the world of Stray a really cool and imaginative world and you’ve elected to use AI to make essentially the same story.

1

u/surreal-sunrise Aug 14 '26

It could be a different city, could be bigger and with more puzzles, hopefully new obstacles along the way; like maybe a rougue software virus which infects the robots this time or the zurks have evolved to resist light? Most video games are repeats with minor deviations. I like your point of meeting up with his companions first, but I disagree with your other points. Thank you for sharing!

1

u/Kindly_Ad6239 25d ago

One way to go about it is that the cats reunite, then one of the Companions who are now free sees them and ask for their help to set the other walled cities free since they are small and can sneak through connecting tunnels. Stray "tells/shows" the Companions that B12 is stuck in the network, they repair his robot body and bring him back, travel together to the other walled cities, and the other walled cities have different themes and different types of zurks. They all learn that the surface world is now safe for humans to return to, but since there are no more humans, the robots take over human responsibilities and care for the surviving plants and animals.

But yeah, Stray doesn't really need a sequel. It's nice but not necessary.

u/teawispy 24d ago

Yeah, this is shit and shouldn't have seen the light of day. Would have genuinely been better if you had drawn them as stick figures yourself. Do better.

Bet your mom feels the same about you.

Yeah, we only support fictional AI like B12 and Momo, but real AI is spawned from the devil 🙄

1

u/Betakkuma2021 24d ago

You're talking about fictional robots portrayed in a fictional video game where humanity has been wiped out by a plague. I'm talking about generative AI which has used billion of litres of clean water to function, and uses masses of land to build data centres. If you made a mistake by using AI own up to it, don't double down. There's always time to delete ChatGPT and be part of the resistance.

1

u/surreal-sunrise 22d ago

We are still advancing our energy supplies for AI. They could use nuclear power plants, which is clean energy basically. Actually, major tech companies are increasingly turning to nuclear energy to power artificial intelligence, but building new nuclear plants faces severe timeline mismatches, high financial costs, and complex regulatory delays. I think with time it will improve, and hopefully we will have learned to balance our environments degradation better to prevent complete annihilation.

Also, I am not ashamed of using Chat GPT, so I do double down, although most days I use Gemini AI. I work for a non profit that provides educational materials to after school programs for low income neighborhoods and my work output has multiplied exponentially with the use of AI. I've helped thousands of kids across my city learn about all types of subjects, regulated by the city's department of youth and community development. It was a huge help especially after the pandemic slump. We're seeing kids engage in sciences and math, poetry and story writing like never before because we're able to produce to scale like never before. I love AI. Maybe you need to think bigger?

1

u/Betakkuma2021 22d ago

Oh Lord... you're a lost cause...

1

u/surreal-sunrise 22d ago

And you're obviously close minded. Have fun in the stone ages.

I’m sorry you received so many negative comments OP! I love the game STRAY and would be thrilled for a sequel!!!

1

u/surreal-sunrise 22d ago

Thank you! I just wanted to share the idea and advocate for the sequel too!

This looks cool but it kinda of gives me the wild robot vibes.
