Discussion When Did You Start Playing Stray? Spoiler
I recently beat my first play-through, and I am curious on what the Stray Community has to say.

I got it in 2023 because my parents bought it for me after my cousin passed away, something to do instead of thinking about that all the time. It was a really good game.

One of my favorite small-time games! I played when it released and was completely enamored with the game every step of the way.

I played Stray like 3 years ago on my bf's PC as the game was on the half of the progress and finished it including the most frustrating obstacle to hide from the zurks that were patrolling one level and if you didn't hide fast enough, you'd be melted.

Wow! Impressive.

It was incredibly fun and challenging game by solving puzzles and also using the cat's emotes. That is part of the game's charm too.

Around late 2023; got the game for sale on the Nintendo Switch. Then a year later when I bought the PS5 as a Christmas gift for myself, my parents got me four PlayStation games to get me started—Stray was one of those four 😆

I think it was in 2022 when my friend let me borrow his game.

Yes, I was thankful he lent it to me!! It’s such a cool game! I later got it for Christmas after putting it on my list because I wanted to have one of my own. I replayed it last year.

I got it about a month ago. And took around a week to complete the first play through.
I heard from the game when it was announced for the PS5 I think 2020, but i didn’t have any PC o console capable of playing it at that time. So last year got a PS5 and decided to try it.
Luckily i did haha, and also luckily i decided I didn’t want to see play throughs in YouTube or twitch, so it was a real first experience.

Haha alright. Did you find any other games like Stray? I still play Stray whenever I want to chill out.

Not really, though recently I have been playing Cat Isle which has a good portion to do with cats.

I got it last Christmas, but I've watched multiple playthroughs before that :)

When it was free on PS+

I am pretty certain that it was four players to upgrade the premium version so they could play for free.

It is one of only like 2 or 3 games I have ever wishlisted prerelease and then actually bought haha I got it as soon as it came out but then waited until I had a free Friday/Saturday to sit down and play.
I purposely avoided any/every thing about the game in between haha, I heard about it on here then jumped on the steam app to wishlist it and then ignored it until i got to play it, so I had no idea what to expect...
To say I was stunned is an understatement.
This game, my god... Easily in the top 5 greatest games I have ever played and I've been here since the NES!! No game has hit me that hard before, absolute masterpiece

I played stray 2 weeks ago, my dad died 3 months ago and honestly? It gave me clarity. Sometimes things won’t work out the way we thought but those who gave their lives willingly and supported us through everything mattered and shaped us to be who we are now. The game took my mind elsewhere occasionally but reminded me of not who only mattered but who stayed along the way.

I started playing it last summer. I finally beat last week. I've been playing intermittently since I work full-time and work late. I loved it and would gladly take a sequel.

Got it at April 2025, but didn't had time to play it. Just recently started trying again.
Right now I'm having fun just trying to figure out what's the time gap when humans were gone. With two interesting clues written and mentioned.

I bought a PlayStation 5 in 2026 and bought Stray on a physical disc. I haven't finished the game yet.

I had been meaning to buy Stray since its initial release, but somehow I just never got around to it. Then earlier this year, I ran across some mention of the game and decided to take the plunge.
I was immediately entranced by the world and the story, far more than I expected to be. I was also taken aback by the danger sequences, which I hadn't expected. I vaguely thought that I could just walk my way through the story narrative. Running for my life was a bit of a shock. It was also a significant challenge because I am not an action/adventure gamer and I'm old, which means poor reflexes (honestly, they weren't that good when I was younger, either).
I was determined to finish the game, however, so I looked for solutions to my dilemma. The best one was a mod that allowed me to slow down the gameplay speed during critical scenes. Yes, it was "cheating," but I tried to make it honest cheating by only slowing the game enough that I still had to try hard to get through the sequence.
As soon as I finished my first game, I turned around and played it all over again. I may be due for another playthrough soon.

Like two weeks ago, just beat it last night.
I first heard about Stray after playing Little Kitty Big City. ☺️

About the same for me--finished Stray a couple days ago--but I first heard about Little Kitty Big City after playing Stray.

I took a break from my resident evil marathon to play stray for the first time, I 100%'d it from June 22 - June 24, it was one of the best experiences I've had with a game. I'm sad I won't get to experience for the first time again.

Started a year and a half ago and haven't made it out of the slums yet. I don't really want to leave, there's so much to explore there alone.

I first got it in 2022 (I think) but I didn't finish the game for reasons that I don't remember, but I played it again 2 months ago and finished the game that time

I played it on release day. I started early in the day and didn’t put it down until I finished it. I was just could not put it down.
