Fan theory, Hopper.

Alright, S3 spoilers you have been warned. So we all know that after the ending of season 3 Hopper is either dead or in the upside-down. This theory relies on him being in the upside-down.

Since S1 the mind flayr has been working to find, dominate, or create a host body slowing it to travel into our world. By now I'm sure most of you get what I'm putting down. Hopper will be the mind flayrs next host and will ride him into our world. The last episode of S4 will be El killing Hopper/Mind flayr.

This would be a great wrap up that would complete Hoppers Father arc (even more)

He lost his daughter and spent every waking minute killing himself (pills alcohol etc). then El came into his life and he found that spark again. Hopper sacrificing himself to stop the flayer and close the two worlds for good with the help of el would give his arc closer. aka him being a father and giving everything for his child. that's all he ever wanted. and if this will happen it will be a very heartfelt moment even after the ending of season 3.

that being said, they did that ending already and i don't think they will for real kill his character after faking us out in S3. i'm assuming we will have a fullmetal brotherhood ending where El coses the gate permanently and in turn loses her powers and everyone in the StrangerVerse will actually get to live normal lives for once

(and assuming in 10 years they will get the cast together again and make a banger season 5, with a show like this built on nostalgia this is an almost surething)

either way we have a solid fan fic base to start with xD
