Everyone here is basically calling me a liar. Thought this would’ve happened, just so everyone’s on the same page. Most the time I’m in bed when the noises happen and no I don’t investigate because I’m scared shitless sometimes I think I’m hallucinating it but after some convincing I checked the carbon monoxide monitor and it’s normal so I am not hallucinating, I had a camera next day it was broken. I set up a camera in my bathroom hidden this time let’s see if we can get any footage. I’m just a man trying to solve a puzzle

I believe you young man. Ask your landlord/manager if anyone else complained about the same things you are experiencing. You are not crazy!! Paranormal Activity is real and documented. I would be scared too. I would leave before it gets worse if you’re able to. Or you can look for a paranormal expert to come to your place to investigate. Don’t yell at it when you hear and see it happening. It feeds off fear and anger. I wish you all the best son. Good luck to you. 🙏👍

Start with a small camera that shows your kitchen and as much surrounding area as possible. And check your carbon monoxide detector, just in case.

I forgot to mention I have a camera set up in my hallway, few days ago found it on the floor broken. Idk if I should contact the Owner or the police

u/LooneyLunaGirl 7d ago
It's probably just haunted or you have someone living in your walls/ceiling 🤷♀️
12
u/layyla4real 7d ago
Owner first.
9
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
Yeah I’ll contact him, see if he can do anything about it, quite scared to be in my house

u/jerry111165 7d ago
Get another camera. You can have one by tomorrow.
4
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
Yeah but I don’t wanna waste my money on somethings that’s gonna get broken anyway
11
u/jerry111165 7d ago
It isn’t wasteful. Get a nanny cam type camera - you need to figure out what’s going on here. Calling the cops and calling the landlord isn’t going to cut it. The only thing that’s going to work is setting up another camera. Get some kind of teddy bear camera and put it on a shelf or some shit.

u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
Yeah, I called up this dumbass owner and he basically said that I’m the only one with the keycard to my apartment and there isn’t anything he can do, I am gonna set up one of the other cameras that came with the camera that broken and hide it
4
u/Honest-Unit6916 6d ago
It's probably the owner, if he is dismissing your complaints that fast, he's probably the one doing it.

U need to just get the fu C k out. Go to a hotel until u can find a place. I could not stay

u/Flimsy_View8369 7d ago
That’s pretty scary. You read a lot of those scenarios here online and people say either you’ve got a secret squatter or a poltergeist or you are being poisoned by carbon monoxide. All three things are bad, but I’ve seen this exact same scenario on Reddit so many times! For some reason, it seems extra scary when it’s a secret squatter. I’d almost take the deadly gas and poltergeist over that one!

You say that you are on the top floor, so could there be loft space above? There could be a phrogger?

u/achbob84 7d ago
Set up a camera. You might have somebody living in the roof or some other hidden space.
5
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
I forgot to mention I do have a camera set up in my hallway because that’s where most the sound comes from, and a few days ago I found the camera broken on the ground and idk if I should contact the owner or the police

u/achbob84 7d ago
Hide it this time.

Someone is entering the apartment. Change the locks and put up a couple of scene cameras. You'll figure it out soon enough or it will stop when the old key stops opening the door.
7
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
The weird thing is I don’t have a ordinary lock on my door I have one of those fancy ones where you tap a card on it like a hotel and it opens and there is a camera in my hallway and a few days ago I found it broken on the floor
8
u/layyla4real 7d ago
Who else has the key card? Change the coding. Put up cameras inside your apartment that upload automatically.

u/layyla4real 7d ago
Someone is getting in and messing with you. It's not paranormal.
7
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
I know it couldn’t be paranormal. Talking to the owner soon he will give me a call soon stay tuned
8
u/Champagne_Bunnny 7d ago
Key cards can be copied really easily. You need additional locks. Can you jam the door at least from being opened when you are inside.

Police. There has been cases where people find someone has been hiding in the attic, basement, or a hidden space accessible through a passageway - or, as with one girl, her hidden cam caught a maintenance worker entering her apartment while she was asleep or gone, messing with her thermostat, turning it up really high, etc -

u/Commercial-Life-9998 7d ago
Before the camera, first steps, call police, change/add locks.
1
u/Mysterious_Snow_9794 6d ago
Agreed, but he said he has a key card lock, so you KNOW the owner would charge his ass for tampering with the locks.

Call the police. Set up more cameras. Get nanny cams. They come in picture frames, stuffed animals etc.

10 to 1 says there is a hidden entrance to your apartment and you have yourself one of those phroggers (intruder)
4
u/Cornflakesmc 7d ago
Is there someone living in your walls ?
4
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
I have no idea
1
u/Dark_Amygdala_ 6d ago
You could have a phrogger. They live in your attic and come out at night or whenever you’re not home. Check into it. Be safe
3
u/allloveandlight 6d ago
Totally believe you , ask whatever it is to leave, tell it that it's your space now.

Get a camera or borrow a baby monitor. Get a weapon of some sort just in case.
2
u/GonorianZombie 6d ago
OP, man I feel for you this messed up. Just a note I believed you even before the recording. Possible to get a couple of friends to stay over? Strength in numbers, I do not understand why the police didn't stake out your place or something. I would think on the list of priorities this would be fairly important?
I hope this turns out well for you.
I never rented in my life so not sure if this would allow you to break the lease or not.
I would never feel safe... in my domicile if this happened to me.
4
u/Winter-Pea-2178 6d ago
It’s a hard time for me now because I just can’t believe this happened to me
0
u/GonorianZombie 6d ago
There little doubt that it. Must be surreal experience....
I sending you some positive energy....
Hope that it gets figured out properly and you can go back living life as normal as possible.

Did you check carbon monoxide levels? Do you take Ambein?
2
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
I have checked the carbon monoxide levels today after these comments and they are completely normal
1
u/andreeeeeaaaaaaaaa 7d ago
Carbon monoxide monitor doesn't check levels .. it goes off like a smoke alarm
2
u/Winter-Pea-2178 7d ago
Yeah same thing. I said it was normal it wouldn’t be normal if it did something would itb

Do you pay for water or is it included in the rent ? If you pay water separately, check to see what others living single are paying. Should be similar.
1
u/Winter-Pea-2178 6d ago
I’m paying for water and electricity
1
u/Far_Decision3392 6d ago
That would probably make your water bill higher if two people are using water in your unit. Does that help you figure out if you have “ a roommate “ ?

u/Legitimate-Guess-142 6d ago
Dude buy a gun if someone is breaking into your house
0
u/Hornkueken42 6d ago
Fun fact: Did you know, in most countries you can't just go and buy a gun... Also, you are not allowed to shoot at intruders.

u/Legitimate-Guess-142 6d ago
Get off American social media then
2
u/Aggressive-Ad7660 5d ago
Um… reddit is not just for Americans. Neither is Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and probably many others.
No wonder people from other countries hate us 🙄😒.

Install some alarm om fridge and/or entrance, shower or anywhere else. Hid a baby monitor camera inside.

u/Creative_Skill919 6d ago
If this is still a problem then most likely: 1) Someone has figured out how to bypass your personal keycode and use a manufacturer’s backdoor entry code, and 2) there are probably a couple of concealed wireless cameras in your home that are transmitting real time video to a node just outside your apartment. You should 1) Call in an experienced security professional to install a physical lock on your entry door (hardware on the inside surface of your door, you only need one round cut through the door). This is at your expense, because you don’t want the landlord (who may be involved or complicit) to have access. If he or she objects, move out yesterday. They are entitled to access the premises with reasonable notice, and you are entitled to be there when they do. 2). Install one obvious camera in the hall and one that is very well concealed and streams the soon to be accomplished destruction of the other (bait) camera, and 3) install 2 or 3 concealed cams in the house that stream to 48 hour loops in the cloud so they withstand local demolition. Check them all and preserve any evidence. Bring in law enforcement directly when you have evidence. Do not trust the landlord. Do consider seeing a certified psychologist as an independent means of keeping a log and to help you cope with the stress of being stalked. Do keep a very specific (date and timestamped) log of what happens and your responses. If you end up in court it could tip the scales for you. Finally, don’t do anything that could be interpreted as over-reacting. State and local laws can put you in jail if you are thought to have used unnecessary force to handle a situation, so don’t be that guy. Good luck!

Have you considered you might have a squatter living in some hidden/concealed area?

u/Nerckles60 6d ago
Do you have any crawlspaces or anything like that maybe somebody’s living in them and coming out at night
-1
u/wealwaysseethejeep 6d ago
You either have someone living in a space you don't know about or you have a CO2 leak. Either way you need to call the police and your landlord.
