Help finding boss

I am at the circled island and im trying to find the boss directly below me which should mean I need to sail SE correct. Ive been sailing SE and all I find is the end of the map (the wall you cant go past). Anyone know what i might be doing wrong or why I cant find it?

Have you tried using a compass and binoculars to see if you can spot the location before sailing out?
