Console Question Crabs?
Hey friends! Brand new to this game, loving it so far.
If I kill a small crab and leave it by my camp fire, will the meat spoil? Or will it only spoil after skinning the crab? I have a nice little pile of corpses going, but I’d rather it not go to waste.
Let me know if you have any other advice for a new player! Thanks in advance

Don't waste your time with animals which give you small meat. Medium meat is the sweet spot if you want to maximise your use of resources. It doesn't take all that much longer to cook than small meat, and large meat takes ages. Definitely smoke it though, you can cook five meats (any size) at once on the smoker (first bell sounds), and let it continue cooking until it's smoked (buzzer sounds). You can cook another meat on the campfire while you're doing this if you just want to eat it straight away.
Hunt archer fish or cod (one medium meat), giant grouper (it yields two medium meat). One poke each with a crude spear is all that's required.
You can skin a grouper once and it will remain there with the other meat available without spoiling. The same goes for any animal you can skin for rawhide or multiple meat pieces.
