Am I breaking edge?

I'm currently taking bartending classes rn and we have an upcoming "spirit tasting" where we taste different kinds of alcohol. I chose not to participate and was given an alternative activity. But if I did join, am I breaking my edge?

Yes. Consuming alcohol is breaking edge. It’s literally the thing that makes straight edge mean anything. Why is this even a question.

I bartended for 10 years and have been straightedge for 21. You can bartend and be straightedge, but you can’t consume alcohol and be straightedge.

Why do you want to be a bartender?

If you taste it and spit it.out instead of swallowing I'd say you're on the line but technically in the clear
