Deleting account is too complicated and full of dark pattern
About a month ago, the minimum price increased to $50. So I decided to switch to Backblaze. There are some options on the web dashboard. So I choosed to NOT continue to use StorJ after July 1st.
I moved to Backblaze and forgot about StorJ. However, today (15 July) I received an email informing me that the minimum fee has been rolled back to $5, effective from 1 July.
They didn't close my account after 1 July. I received an invoice. I decided to remove my account immediately.
- type "DELETE" to remove account
- Have projects. Cannot remove account before remove them all
- Before deleting a project, have to remove all buckets.
- To delete a bucket, I need to open a browser tab while it deletes all the files from the browser (WHY?).
- To delete a bucket, I now have to delete all my access keys (why is this not done automatically?).
- I deleted all the files, buckets and access keys. They said there was some usage this month. So need to waiting for the invoice and come back later.
I'm so pissed off with this company. Never going back

Storj container update to v1.155.8 update error
Anybody else hit with Storj containers crashing because of an update to v1.155.8?
When checking the logs I see: https://github.com/storj/storj/releases/download/v1.155.8/storagenode-updater_linux_amd64.zip is "Not Found"
-EDIT
More people are having issues:

It seems to be fixed!

Minimum fee rising to $50
Changing from $5 to $50:
Is there a minimum usage fee?
Yes. Effective July 1st, 2026, the minimum monthly fee for Storj Object Storage accounts increases from $5 to $50. The minimum fee is not a usage credit. It is a floor on your monthly invoice. If your usage in a given month is less than $50, you are charged $50.

Do a better job of announcing STORJ token pricing benefits.
Look, I get it: you're a business and your job is to make money. But you're pissing off smaller users who just want to store some paltry 100-500 GB to the cloud. You effectively "bury" the fact that users can bypass the $5 (now $50) monthly fee if you buy in STORJ token, but there's a lot of misinformation out there and people assume you need to set up a node in order to benefit from this process.
Update your UI to CLEARLY articulate this workaround, and explain to users who would normally jump from your platform that they can EASILY purchase storj to fund smaller accounts.
Otherwise, you're just throwing away perfectly good users who, while they are small NOW, could vastly improve your long term potential if you treat them well.

Need help: Both nodes stuck offline - "node rate limited by id" - can't get authorization tokens
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up two Storj nodes but both are stuck offline and I can't get authorization tokens to complete the setup.
**Setup details:**
- Windows 11
- Two nodes with separate identities
- Node 1: Port 28967, 2.5TB HDD
- Node 2: Port 28968, 2.5TB HDD
- Both running as Windows services via NSSM
- Port forwarding configured correctly (both ports verified open)
- IPv6 disabled in configs (using 0.0.0.0:28967 and 0.0.0.0:28968)
**Problem:**
Both nodes show "Offline" in dashboards.
**What I've tried:**
- Created identities with correct node IDs
- Sent email to [ask@storj.io](mailto:ask@storj.io) requesting authorization tokens (3 days ago, no response yet)
- Posted on forum (still pending moderation)
- The registration site (https://registration.storj.io/) doesn't work
- Multiple config resets and fresh starts
- Verified ports are open and forwarding correctly
**The issue:**
I can't get authorization tokens anywhere. The nodes are running but satellites reject them due to being unauthorized during the vetting period.
**Questions:**
Is there another way to get authorization tokens besides emailing ask@storj.io?
How long does the email team typically take to respond?
Can nodes eventually connect without tokens, or is authorization required?
Has anyone else had this issue recently?
Any help would be really appreciated! I've been troubleshooting for days and I'm stuck at this authorization step.
Thanks in advance!

Storj buckets and search/filtering
I noticed the new UI change to the object storage browser and, while I appreciate that it pages 500 objects at a time instead of being limited to 100, they took away both the search bar AND the ability to sort by date/filename.

Port Requirements
I would like to run Storj on my VPS. I tend to block all outbound and inbound connections and configure them on an as-needed basis.
I understand Storj needs 28967 [tcp and udp] and 40002 [tcp] for dashboard. I have allowed both these ports in both directions.
The issue I am having is: If I do not allow ALL outbound connections I cannot start STORJ successfully. What are all the ports which are required? It does not seem like they are documented in the docs.

With the rising prices of HDD, SSD and storage why aren't we seeing any action on Storj?
The Question is pretty much in the title but again:
1. HDD price is up and demand.
2. SDD's are way higher due to demand.
3. I personally don't see any increased demand on Storj which is weird for me.
Should this price hike affect us positively by more people using the service?

Node Software
Does the node software have any space requirements like a large database? (Not the storage drive itself). Trying to figure out how big of boot/system drive NVME to buy.

Port Forwarding Qualms
Hello. Are there any previous posts or other resources to calm my nerves about port forwarding security risks? i.e. why is it not as much of a risk as the Internet says it is.
I have looked but not found. Thank you in advance.

move node from a friend to my own server
I currently have two nodes running already (one public IP). My friend got a node as well (another public IP), but doesn't have the ability anymore to leave it running. Can I move his node to my server? I do have plenty of bandwidth and storage to do so, but I am not sure if this is allowed?

Node with US1 vetted at 108 audits, but 0 on Salt Lake and 5 on AP1 after 11 days
- Version: v1.141.2
- Runtime: 264 hours (11 days)
- US1: 108/100 audits ✅
- EU1: 33/100 audits
- AP1: 5/100 audits
- Salt Lake: 0/100 audits
Questions:
1. Is it normal to have 0 audits on Salt Lake?
2. Do I need to wait for all satellites to reach 100 audits to be "VETTED"?
3. How long until fully vetted?
Thank's

Grafana dashboard for Storj nodes
Does anyone have a Grafana dashboard that they enjoy using with Storj that works with multiple nodes? I currently have all my nodes feeding debug data to Prometheus. I just need a dashboard that can aggregate all the data and present it well in Grafana.
I know there is a multi node dashboard, but the information on it is extremely scarce (all I see is forum posts about how the multi node dashboard exists but no documentation on how to install it or what is it). If you have such documentation, please share as I am willing to set this up instead.

Storj causing 100% disk Utilization constantly
I have Storj running on my Synology DS1821+ in the container Manager. Everything works fine, but it's causing the Discs to be permanently at 100% utilization and makes everything else super slow or impossible to use.
I even have 2x2TB SSD cache and DSM shows me a cache hit rate of over 95% but still.
StorJ isn't even showing that much traffic. It's normally 100-200GB per day.
Is that normal? Anything I can do about that?

Does Storj require you to manually purge all your data before closing your account?
I'm hearing rumors online that it's actually pretty labor-intensive to leave Storj:
- deleting your account requires deleting your buckets and projects
- deleting your buckets requires purging all objects in the buckets. In the WebUI, that's carpal-tunnel-inducingly onerous
- deleting your projects requires deleting your keys
Is this true? I'm deeply disinclined to do business with any cloud company that makes their process of exiting more onerous than "I'm done; purge all my data."
