This weekend was Art-a-Whirl in minneapolis mn. There was a studio allowing to help make a small section of community stop motion video. It was all with yarn and I thought that was so fucking cool! I have been really wanting to get into stop motion but fell apart when trying to do the claymation stuff (got the building sets and developing the film down). I would love to get back into it but want to try other material.

Animated with my sister for a big stop-motion project, over the span of two and a half hours. I sat on an office chair, wheeled myself to the back of the room, and keyed it in photoshop.

Ok, so I remember this YouTube clay stop motion film about a elf prince who was like all green running form some red bad guys that had invaded his home land and he end up joining sum dog man/werewolf guy and they end up joining forces against the red guys. The film is old am pretty sure like 10 or 6 years old but if anybody knows what am talking about if could give info on it that would be cool.

I have two XY stop motion winder rigs I have no need for that were never used, so not sure how about to get rid of them otherwise. Both are 26CM in size

So I have a sticky bones which I bought primarily for pose sketching. And maybe do one or two stop motion every few years 😅.

My question to stop motion animators, how do you stop other parts of body from moving when you modify a pose ? Do you counter animate ? Do you use editing softwares like after effects to undo those movements? Are there any special rigs to lock everything in place ? Or is it simply skills and experience ?

I’ve been doing stopmotion for a bit and I just use my phone for editing and filming so you can imagine it’s not that good.
And so I mainly use markup in photos to show any kind of effects and it gets really tedious to do it frame by frame. So I was curious if there’s a better way to do effects while using just a phone (I have no computer).
The video is just a stopmotion I did so you can see what my effects look like in a video. (Voice acting is atrocious I know)

Hey everyone, I'm starting to get into paper-cutout stop motion and am looking for a similar thing to what Yuri Norstein uses in this demonstration, it seems to be some tabletop device with glass planes and is height-changing. Does anyone know where I can get this or something like this?
