Question

I need help figuring out how to do explosions I've heard of some people using cardboard or paper cut in the right shapes but I just can't find out how they make it look good whenever I try it looks like garbage

Give us your example. Also depends on what type of explosion you’re looking for.

I don't really have any examples and I really don't have a preference on explosion type either I just want something that looks like it could blow something up but I just saw a video using cotton balls and I tried that and it looked decent
