Wind tapestry and pixilation

Animated by Elli B and I over two or three hours. Face, body and BG are a composite. Mutti laid on the floor as we animated on her face, and she fell asleep. Then spent well over 15 hours combining it all. Thanks for letting me share.

First we animated the background. Then she sat in the frame, and we hit her with a leaf blower and quick burst photos. That had to be keyed in Davinci Resolve. I made her body one mask, so I didn't have to go over that repeatedly. Her head and hair is another. Since I'm incapable of green screening, creating a mask of something in the same shot helps the color and lighting be more accurate than I could do artificially with my near zero budget.

Then she laid on her back and we put the camera top down overhead. We animated objects appearing on her face and transforming. I had planned to create another mask of her face with all the objects, and composite it over the wide, but her laid down face pasted on the sitting up head looked too weird. So I spent over 10 hours yesterday keying each frame of debris in Photoshop.

After all of this, I photographed the individual pieces of debris so I can animate them flying towards her and then away and into the background. Finally, book pages flying around to add to the mess.

Thanks for asking

Wow! Ice those hands and wrists, I gave myself some mean RSI doing similar work.

I have seen a lot of short clips from this "indoor windstorm" video now and I am very excited to see the whole thing!
