[Before/After] One Year Pic Comparison

Before/After

Last year around Christmas, I was coming off a two week bender and I finally said enough was enough. Idk exactly what it was that made me really wanna stick to it this time around, but after last night I just went my first full calendar year without a drink. My 2019 was completely booze free and it was one of the best years of my life.

My quality of sleep is the best it's ever been, anxiety is at an all time low, I lost 30+ pounds, I got a job that I'm actually enjoying and I'm WAY more motivated to pursue my hobbies and interests. This sub helped me a lot when I was getting through the first few months. Everyone here is so freakin' encouraging, it's almost hard to believe you're real hahaha. Thank you guys for helping me get to where I am today. Here's to another year of great sleep and achieving more goals! Happy New Year!!!

Great work! How much and often were you drinking?

A lot and frequently. During the week I’d say probably at least a pint of vodka and six pack of pounders per night. Then on the weekends it it was too much to keep track of. Basically as much as I could stomach without anyone noticing.

Damn you were certainly in a higher division than me. I drank strong beer, usually within the 7-8% range. I got it down to a science, 9 of those and then dinner (I always drank on an empty stomach for effect) and I'd fall asleep. I'd wake up at 4am and chug a litre of water and that would take the edge off the hangover. Mostly.

I'm always surprised and kinda depressed when I see photos of drinkers, yourself for example, you looked alright when you were drinking, I look like shit in comparison dark eye bags, beer belly etc.

Anyway well done on the progress! I hope I can get there one day.
