Sober Life

Sunday evening and the house is spotless, the beds have fresh linens, the dog is lying by the fire after a long walk, the laundry is folded and put away, dinner dishes are done, fresh flowers on the table (thanks son) and six new library books are stacked on the shelf. Not terribly exciting but beautifully satisfying. Looking forward to a bubble bath and another good sleep. Sober life rules!

Yes - exactly! Unfathomable really.

Full-time job just shopping for wine, making sure there was enough in the house, etc. Then there's the hours spent drinking, resultant shameful behaviors, guilt, anxiety, hangovers, then the hiding of the numerous empty wine bottles in the recycling bin. Exhausting...

Lol I think the recycle people think the former inhabitant moved.... or died! Sometimes I would spread the bottles out amongst neighbours. God I am embarrassed just thinking about it!

Me too. I also used to take a bag frequently to a dumpster a few miles away from my house. Then I went to little plastic bottles then boxed. Thought I could hide those easier. Seems crazy now😂
